Colette was a remarkable woman whose quest for freedom allowed her to accomplish great things, although it also led to her being hurt by, and hurting, many people. The movie Colette simplifies her into a woman who only needs to rid herself of a domineering husband to blossom into fabulousness. The Complete Claudine

Claudine at School is a book from 1900 about Claudine, a fifteen-year-old girl living in rural France, and her time at school. That’s it. It’s told in first-person, as diary entries. There’s no plot at all, although there’s suspense about final exams and constant gossip about who is having a relationship with whom.
