Books on Sale: An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole & More

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole is $2.99 at Amazon! This could expire ASAP. Simply put, GET THIS BOOK. Sarah completely loved it:

First, yes, you should absolutely read this book immediately, if you haven’t already. There is so much happening in the conflict within each of the protagonists, between the protagonists, and around them and their allies and enemies, I can’t possibly discuss all of it, but please know: if you are a reader (and why else would you be here, right?) this book is a marvelous, intelligent, respectful, breathtaking treat for your brain.

Book Review

How to Catch an Errant Earl by Amy Rose Bennett

How to Catch an Errant Earl

How to Catch an Errant Earl is the second in Amy Rose Bennett’s “Disreputable Debutantes” series. It has a loveable heroine but the hero is such a douchebag that I simply could not even. The heroine of this novel is Miss Arabella Jardin. She is one of four friends who were expelled from Mrs. Rathbone’s Academy for Young Ladies of Good Character for “conduct unbecoming.” I assume we hear more about this in the first … Continue reading How to Catch an Errant Earl by Amy Rose Bennett

Books on Sale: On the Edge by Ilona Andrews & More

On the Edge by Ilona Andrews is $1.99! This is the first book in The Edge urban fantasy series and, I think, it’s the only series I haven’t read by Andrews. As usual for Andrews, the worldbuilding is great, though some readers said it took them longer to connect with the characters than in Andrews other series.

403. Amanda’s Birthday Surprise Pajama Jammy Jam With Christina Lauren and Kristin Dwyer

This is a silly episode about cake, desserts, and in the middle, a surprise party for Amanda. She thought she was logging in to talk about cake. I surprised her with a virtual pajama birthday party with Christina Lauren and Kristin Dwyer – and a lot of pictures of Adam Driver. Zeb is begging throughout the recording. We talk about cake and desserts. We discuss strange food combos. We’re very silly. We get a super-surprise … Continue reading 403. Minor Admin Note: Comment Hearts Are Back!

Featured image for Minor Admin Note: Comment Hearts Are Back!

On Christmas Eve last year (remember that? It was like sixty-twelve years ago) the comment liking plugin was really unhappy, and was dragging the load time of the site. So I turned it off. A number of you emailed to ask where the hearts on comments had gone, as it was a feature y’all really liked (ba-dum-bum). So! I’ve done some investigating and have re-enabled the comment liking. Woo! You should see little hearts next to … Continue reading Minor Admin Note: Comment Hearts Are Back!

The Rec League: Supportive Brothers

The Rec League - heart shaped chocolate resting on the edge of a very old book

This latest Rec League is inspired by a discussion I had during one of my romance book club meetings. I can’t remember what book we read, though I think it was a historical romance. But in a lot of cases, in books where there is a brother/sister sibling relationship, the brother is usually an asshole or even the bad guy. They’re judgmental about their sister’s dating life, is ruining her financially, or is somehow impeding … Continue reading The Rec League: Supportive Brothers

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.

I don’t even know what to title these things anymore. There is no theme to this collection of stuff. It’s just…stuff. Tarot cards, fun videos, virtual book events. If you’re curious how I’ll be spending my afternoon, I somehow have all the ingredients for this. … It’s okay to treat yourself and, right now, I’m ogling this gorgeous botanical-themed tarot deck on Kickstarter. It’s already reached its goal, so you’re guaranteed to get your reward! … Continue reading Links: Just Stuff
