Book Boyfriend by Kris Ripper is $2.99! This is a bookish, gay contemporary romance. Ripper’s books have been routinely recommending in the comments and by Tara. However, this one isn’t rated as highly as some of Ripper’s others on Goodreads.
RECOMMENDED: Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir is $4.99 and so is the follow-up, Harrow the Ninth. AJ and I did a lot of squeeing about this one on a podcast episode. Will you understand what’s going on? Probably not, but you’ll have a lot of fun being clueless. I also gave it a B+:
Gideon the Ninth is a unique and bloody bananapants book, and I do think it’s worth a reader’s curiosity. Gideon is an unforgettable protagonist.
The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo is $1.99!This is a mixture of historical fiction, fantasy, and romance. The Ghost Bride. It’s also been made into a Netflix adaptation that I’m super curious about! Since this book is on sale and Choo’s sophomore novel was also reduced in price, does this mean there’s a new book coming out?!
RECOMMENDED: Winter’s Orbit by Everina Maxwell is $2.99! Ellen read this one and gave it an A-:
If you enjoy sci-fi, arranged marriage/marriage of convenience stories, courtly intrigues, and/or slow-burn romance, I think Winter’s Orbit is a great choice.
The Earl Next Door by Amelia Grey is $1.99! This historical romance is the first book in the First Comes Love series. Readers loved how the heroine creates a strong friendship with a group of widows, though others thought the romance could have been stronger.
