Forbidden Promises by Synithia Williams is $2.99! This was a previous Hide Your Wallet pick and the first in the Jackson Falls small town romance series, which features a lot of complicated and dramatic family dynamics, judging from the comments last time it was on sale.
RECOMMENDED: London Celebrities Collection by Lucy Parker is $2.99! Thank you to everyone who let us know about this one. This set collections 3 contemporary romances. Sarah loves this series and you can catch her reviews here:
Queen of the Conquered by Kacen Callender is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal. I talked about this book on the podcast after attending BEA this year. If you’re in need of a book where a heroine embraces her grief and rage and seeks revenge, this certainly seems to fit the bill.
A Scandalous Proposal by Kasey Michaels is $1.99! This is a historical romance and the second book in The Little Season series. Readers recommend this one for a silly and light romance, while others mentioned they didn’t care for the hero and heroine’s frequent sexual fraternizing.
Along Came Trouble by Ruthie Knox is $1.99! This is the second book in the Camelot contemporary romance series and was part of a previous RITA Reader Challenge.
Reader PamG. gave it a B+: I would highly recommend Along Came Trouble to anyone looking for a contemporary romance with likeable, realistic characters who actually talk to each other like intelligent adults and who grow into a mature committed relationship.
And Reader KellyM gave it an A-: It’s messy and imperfect, and that’s what makes it wonderful.
The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal is $2.99! I have a feeling this is on sale because of the Apollo 11 anniversary. Carrie read this one and gave it a B grade:
Even though at first I found this book to be slow going, I came to appreciate it for its intersectional feminism and its unabashed adoration of all the science and math that goes into making space flight possible.
Borderline by Mishell Baker is $1.99! This is the first book in the urban fantasy series The Arcadia Project, and features a paraplegic heroine who also has borderline personality disorder. This book has been recommended to me countless times in my monthly book club. However, there are some reviewers who said this book was too much of an emotional rollercoaster for them. Content warning for suicide.
RECOMMENDED: The Diviners by Libba Bray is $2.99! This is YA fantasy set in 1920s New York, so you can bet there are plenty of amazing clothes and fancy speakeasies. I personally loved the cast of characters, especially the heroine Evie and Evie’s uncle, who happens to curate an occult museum. However, some people found Evie to border on the TSTL category. Any readers care to weigh in on what they thought?
Strong Signal by Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell is 99c! This is the first book in the M/M Cyberlove series and the second book, Fast Connection, is currently nominated for a RITA award. Readers really loved the chemistry between the two heroes, but some found bits of the conflict and drama were unnecessary.
Some Like It Geek is $3.99! I’m not sure if this is the sale price of not, but this is an anthology that features seven romances with geeky characters. Some appear to be more on the erotic side as well. Many readers liked the “geeky” elements, but found all the Navy SEAL heroes to be out of place a little bit.
