RECOMMENDED: We’re Going to Need More Wine by Gabrielle Union is $2.99! This is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals, which features a lot of memoirs and biographies. Sarah read this one and gave it an A-:
Her perspective as a parent, an actress, an activist and artist, and as a person was a treat and a privilege to read. Half my friends are probably tired of hearing about this book in every text and message, but it’s worth passing along. This was a thoughtful and honest memoir, and I very much recommend it – especially for the Prince stories.

It’s been a bad week(s) for a lot of women. Personally, I’ve been vacillating between the kind of rage where I feel like wasps should come out of my mouth in a swarm, and the sort of despair that leaves you noodle-limp. It’s a combination of anger and exhaustion. I know that I am not alone. Then I picked up Mating the Huntress by Talia Hibbert, and goddamnit, this novella had everything my brain needed. It … Continue reading Mating the Huntress by Talia Hibbert →

A Girl Like Her by Talia Hibbert is $2.99 at Amazon! This is the first book in the Ravenswood series. The book description has a content warning, as there are mentions of past domestic violence. Readers loved the grumpy, prickly heroine, which is totally my catnip. However, others mentioned having difficulties connecting with the characters.

Hello, Wednesday! Have I told you that I hate the summer? I hate it. On the bright side, I’ve been seeing a lot of movies because it lets me sit in the dark with some A/C. I recently saw Ant-Man and the Wasp. Not a bad summer movie and such a great portrayal of positive co-parenting. Anyway, here are some links! … RWA has a new series for authors on their YouTube channel called “Two-Minute Tips.” So far, … Continue reading Links: Writing Tips, Plot Bunnies, & Romance →
The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert made me feel really good. It was the read I needed for a crappy day and it went down like a hot cup of tea followed by a cookie. The pacing was a little off at the end, but my appreciation for an emotionally-fluent hero let me overlook that. Also the heroine wears a Dolly Parton tee shirt to bed and fuck yea, Dolly Parton. I do want to add … Continue reading The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert →

The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert is $2.99! This book just came out February 8 and I immediately one-clicked after seeing it on twitter. It’s a royal romance with a Black heroine and a fake relationship. I’m not a huge fan of smoking, but there’s something I really love about the cover. I think it’s the smug eyebrows. Content warning for scenes of abuse in the book.
