Get a Life, Chloe Brown saw my expectations’ proffered hand and kissed it gently, and then proceeded to charm their pants off. In a tent. With s’mores. (Not with s’mores, because s’mores apparently are not a thing in the UK.) This metaphor got away from me, but you get the idea. This book is outstanding.
RECOMMENDED: The Duke Who Didn’t by Courtney Milan is $2.49! This is a KDD and I know many of you have been waiting for this to go on sale! Catherine gave this a squee grade:
The Duke Who Didn’t was always going to be a book that made me happy. Humour, food, and a gentle hero who just wants the heroine to be less stressed are a pretty good formula for getting onto my keeper shelf.
Make It Sweet by Kristen Callihan is $1.99! Aarya mentioned this in February’s Hide Your Wallet and said she was tempted by the blurb. I haven’t kept up with Callihan’s more current romances. What do you think of them?
Hey! It’s Wednesday Links! I am back in New England. I know a few of you wanted to know how traveling was. Well, my flight down was delayed because a man wanted to curse out the plane for wearing masks. I should also note that the plane was going to Orlando and was mostly full of families with young children. If you follow me on social media, you may have seen the video I took. … Continue reading Links: Special Editions, Shrek, & More→
Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams is $1.99! This is the third book in the Bromance Book Club contemporary romance series. Totally on board with the cat cafe named Toebeans. However, I feel like these books have been hit or miss. Thoughts?
The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold is $1.99! This fantasy novel has been recommended several times in the site’s comments over the years. Some readers felt their interest in the main character waned, but overall, they enjoyed the plot. It has a 4.1-star rating on Goodreads.
If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading March 2021 New Releases, Part One→
RECOMMENDED: The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert is 99c! Yes, it did get a cover redesign by the same artist who did the new illustrated cover of Tikka Chance on Me. Elyse read this one and gave it an A-:
The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert made me feel really good. It was the read I needed for a crappy day and it went down like a hot cup of tea followed by a cookie.
I believe this is new for our “Best Of” week, but I challenged each of our reviewers to pick their favorite release of 2020, whether they reviewed it or not. Some of them weren’t too happy they had to pick just one, though this place would be absolutely lawless if I didn’t make rules! Here are our favorites of the year! We’d also love to hear about your best read of 2020!
So I loved Take a Hint, Dani Brown. How much? I joined the Bad Decisions Book Club on the reread. Which started right after I had finished it the first time. Yes. I knew exactly where the book was going to go and I could not put it down. Honestly, I’m reading it a third time.
