I enjoyed this book so much! A Gentleman Never Keeps Score is a Regency m/m about a disgraced gentleman and a Black pub keeper. The book has a lovely romance as well as a theme of found family and recovery from trauma.
The Arrangement is an anthology containing historical romance novellas from Sylvia Day, Minerva Spencer, and Kristin Vayden. It’s on sale for $1.99! I’m unsure if the Day novella was previously published, but all the stores have a marriage of convenience theme. Some Goodreads reviews mention there being too much sexytimes.
Wrecked by Shiloh Walker is $2.99! This is a contemporary romance about two former child stars. Sarah reviewed this book and gave it a B-:
I was rooting for their relationship to change, and I was rooting for them both. Wrecked is a sweet and sexy story that, despite some repetitive flaws, was charming and fun to read.
Daughter of the Blood by Anne Bishop is $2.99! This is the first book in The Black Jewels series and was recommended in today’s Rec League. Ellen notes that this series deserves all of the content warnings. I know for many readers this was a formative series for their fantasy reading. What are your thoguhts?
The Anatomist’s Wife by Anna Lee Huber is $2.99 at Amazon, which means this deal could expire soon! This is a historical mystery that we tend to recommend on Instagram who want Deanna Raybourn or Lady Sherlock read-alikes. Some people found the prose a bit flowery, while others loved the characters and setting.
RECOMMENDED: Fortune Favors the Wicked by Theresa Romain is $1.99! There’s a treasure hunt, a blind hero, and a former courtesan heroine. Talk about catnip! Redheadedgirl gave this an A grade in a Lightning Review:
What I found the most interesting about this book was how the blind hero was written. He hadn’t always been blind – he was struck by a disease while he was in the Navy – and the narrative describes with abundant detail how he moves through a world he can’t see, but he still perceives. And I really appreciated that she doesn’t magically cure him of his blindness. Love doesn’t cure all things, and this is a part of who he is now.
Only You by Denise Grover Swank is 99c! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price-matched elsewhere. Elyse wrote a Lightning Review of this one and gave it a C-, citing there were some major boundary issues. But she also realized this romance might appeal to others:
There’s a lot of reasons why readers will like this book. The romance is hot and funny, there’s a ton of home renovation/HGTV pr0n, and Kevin adopts a tiny kitten he finds. Plus the relationship between Holly and her grandma, and the subject of dealing with dementia, was genuine and well-done.
Finders Keepers by Linnea Sinclair is 99c! If you like scifi, romance, and some political intrigue, I highly recommend Sinclair’s books. With this one, readers loved the chemistry between the hero and heroine, but found the plot a little all over the place. Have you read this one? Any Sinclair fans out there?
Afterburn & Aftershock by Sylvia Day is $1.99! These are both novellas in the same series, and are contemporary erotic romances. Both books have a combined 3.9-star average. Of course, some of the complaints are that the series is a little short considering it’s composed of two novellas, but fans of Day loved the quick series read. Have you read this?
Not Always a Saint by Mary Jo Putney is $1.99 at Amazon and Kobo! Hopefully, it’ll be price matched elsewhere. This is also the most recent release in the Lost Lords series and was mentioned on a previous podcast. Many readers loved the hero and heroine separately, but found things lacking in their romance. Several of the other Lost Lords books are also on sale!
Pride and Pleasure by Sylvia Day is $2.99! This is an erotic historical romance between an heiress and a man she hired to investigate her potential suitors. A few readers felt like there was too much talking and not enough action. However, many enjoyed the plot setup and the characterizations of the hero and heroine. Have you read this one?
