RECOMMENDED: Business or Pleasure by Rachel Lynn Solomon is $1.99! Apologies if this is a leftover deal from the weekend. Elyse reviewed this one and gave it an A:
Business or Pleasure is a sex-positive, low-conflict celebrity rom com that worked out great for me. I think a lot of readers will enjoy this book (especially the sex positivity!), but it won’t work for anyone looking for angst.
Get ready for another beefy release week! This taper off slightly midway through the month, but then get stacked again toward the end. We have some series continuations and a series starter. Lots of contemporary romances, but some mysteries and even a historical. What are you looking forward to this week? Anything already preordered?
First Love, Take Two by Sajni Patel is $2.99! This is a contemporary romance where two exes become roommates. We featured this one on a previous edition of Cover Awe. Shana gave this a B-:
Readers who like to root for a couple who are up against a closed-minded community, and who sympathize with an anxious, and occasionally strident heroine, would enjoy First Love, Take Two. If you’re looking for a standalone romance, low angst, and a couple with stellar communications skills, this might not be for you. Either way, my fellow foodies will want platters of buttermilk biscuits and tacos at hand while you read.
I love a good scary mystery, and The Sun Down Motel had all the elements to make it perfect. I loved the Gothic atmosphere, the theme of women coming together to get justice for other women, and the excellent momentum of the pacing. Other than possibly being too spooky for some, I can’t come up with a single reason why anyone should avoid this book.
Hide those wallets because it’s Tuesday, and that means new releases. Admittedly, I think it’s a slow start to the month, but the next two weeks are looking overloaded with new books we want to pick up. All I’m saying is get ready and gird yourselves for the next two HYW posts. This one has a couple rereleases of previously published books with new covers or updated content. There are also contemporary romances and mysteries!
Every Rogue Has His Charm by Susanna Craig is $1.99! This is book four in the Love and Let Spy series. Prior books in the series have been favorably reviewed on the site and this one was mentioned in a Hide Your Wallet.
Hey all! Welcome back to Get Rec’d! This is where I discuss some of the other book recommendations I’ve been giving out at the bookstore and elsewhere. There’s quite the assortment this time with pictures books, literary fiction, and more. Have any of you gotten some good recommendations lately? Picked up a sale book that you’re just loving? Tell me in the comments below!
If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), and we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading March 2022 New Releases, Part Two→
A Heart of Blood and Ashes by Milla Vane is $1.99! Romancelandia went nuts for this fantasy romance, though I will warn the environment and world is pretty bleak at times. We also had a great guest review for this one by Crystal Anne with an E. What do you think of the series?
The Broken Girls by Simone St. James is $1.99! James is a bit of a favorite here, especially with Elyse, and tends to write historical fiction with mystery and romantic elements. This one jumps between 1950 and 2014 Vermont. Are you a fan?
Lake Silence by Anne Bishop is $2.99! I’m unsure if this is a limited time sale leftover from yesterday. According to Amazon this is book one in a spin-off from Bishop’s The Others series. I’m sure some knowledge would be helpful here, but would love some comments below if you’ve read it!
