It’s Monday and Mondays around here mean Cover Snark! Elyse: I thought that was shoulder hair…it’s not right? Sarah: On his shoulder? Don’t think so. But he more than loves her so maybe he also keeps her warm? Elyse: I married a hirsute man and I’m used to hairy shoulders, and it looks like hair to me. That’s all I’m saying. You gotta do the magic eye thing where you look at it but don’t … Continue reading Cover Snark: Nip Med, Sundays on ABC→
What I found the most interesting about this book was how the blind hero was written. He hadn’t always been blind – he was struck by a disease while he was in the Navy – and the narrative describes with abundant detail how he moves through a world he can’t see, but he still perceives. And I really appreciated that she doesn’t magically cure him of his blindness. Love doesn’t cure all things, and this is a part of who he is now.
Single Malt by Layla Reyne is 99c! This is a gay romantic suspense novel with an age difference and a workplace romance. Hello catnip! I will warn that there appears to be a cliffhanger in this book, but the next one is available for $3.99. Reviewers had mostly good things to say about the pacing and characterization, and it has a 4.1-star rating on Goodreads.
RECOMMENDED: Scandal Never Sleeps by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake is $2.99! Elyse read this one and really enjoyed it, though she did find it hard to classify in terms of genre:
I was pleasantly surprised by Scandal Never Sleeps. It was the hot contemporary I wanted but with a side of delicious mystery, and I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next in Seduction in Session.
RECOMMENDED: Scandal Never Sleeps by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake is $1.99! Elyse gave this book a B+ and if you’ve been waiting for it to go on sale after reading the review, now’s your chance! Here’s what Elyse had to say:
Overall I was pleasantly surprised by Scandal Never Sleeps. It was the hot contemporary I wanted but with a side of delicious mystery, and I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next in Seduction in Session.
Happy New Year! And we’re kicking off this month with some pretty awesome historical romances. That’s right; We’ve got new Eloisa James and Beverly Jenkins. Plus starts to new series from Lorelei James, Jay Crownover, and Roni Loren! Aside from books, Sarah would also like you to know that she’s been reading “any and all websites about arranging furniture in new spaces, and organizing cabinets. All of those. I’ve probably read them twice.” What are you … Continue reading January’s New Releases→
Premiere is 99c! This is the first collection of romances from the Romance Writers of America, and how fitting now that RWA 2015 is underway! This collection has a little bit of everything – contemporary, paranormal, new adult, historical, and it seems like many other genres. Authors include Courtney Milan, Sylvia Day, Laura Kaye, and more!
The Saint by Tiffany Reisz is $1.99! This is an erotic romance and acts as a prequel series to her Original Sinners series. I’m not sure if it’s better to read these before Original Sinners (this “prequel series” technically was published after the first series), or after to augment your knowledge of the characters. I adored reading The Siren ( A | BN | K | G | AB | Au ) and Elyse gave the book a great review, so I won’t turn down more of Nora and Søren. Any other fans of the series in the Bitchery?
