Hidden Star by Nora Roberts is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance with a touch of suspense. The heroine also has amnesia and a big bag full of jewels and cash. A few readers weren’t fans of the heroine and found her to be rather boring. However, many thought this was a fun read with lots of elements: action, romance, and suspense. Have you read this one?
Divergent by Veronica Roth is $1.99! This is a dystopian young adult novel and the first in the Divergent series. I honestly have mixed feelings about this book. For me, it wasn’t necessarily good or bad, though it didn’t make me want to continue with the rest of the series. I felt the last quarter of the book was rather dark and didn’t match the rest of the book. There were also too many superfluous kissing breaks. However, your mileage may vary and I know many people who love the Divergent trilogy. What do you think?
The Jennifer Crusie Collection is $11.99! Special thanks to Reader Marci for telling us about this kickass sale! This set features seven full-length novels, which averages to around $1.72 a book. Yeah, you read that right! We’re pretty big fans of Crusie here at the Bitchery and if you haven’t had a chance to give her a shot, this is a great opportunity! RECOMMENDED: Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey is .99! This is book 1 in the Kowalskis series, and Sarah thinks it’s just terrific. She reviewed this book when it came out in 2010 and wrote, “I had such a good old time reading this book. There were some flaws to the plot but while reading it, I was charmed and giggly and totally absorbed. This book made me happy. That’s probably the best way to put it: it made me smile. A lot. Books like this are why I read romance.” It was a Sizzling Book Club selection as well. If you like contemporary comedy, this is a great deal.
RECOMMENDED: The Marriage Contract by Katee Robert is $3.99! This is an arranged marriage plot in a modern setting, which I would love to see more of! The book does deal with characters in the mob, which I know is a big off-button for some readers, so FYI. Elyse’s review came out today and she gave it an A:
If you had told me that I’d really love a book about the children of two Boston mob bosses being in an arranged marriage, I’d have raised a skeptical eyebrow. But I’m so so glad that The Marriage Contract proved me wrong because I enjoyed it immensely.
First Time in Forever by Sarah Morgan is $1.99 at Amazon! This contemporary romance is the first book in Morgan’s Puffin Island series. SB Sarah picked it as one of her March new releases she was excited for. Readers who love the small town romance trope really enjoyed this book, while others felt there was a lack of chemistry between the hero and heroine. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads.
