I loved this book. It kept me in suspense and when it was over I wanted to read it again. It sent me down many Google rabbit holes, which is my favorite kind of book. I recommend this for people who aren’t averse to ambiguity, who like stories of adventure and exploration as well as intersectional examinations of women’s lives, and to people who like mystery/thrillers.
If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), and we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading March 2022 New Releases, Part Two→
Firelight by Kristen Callihan is $1.99! This is the first book in the Darkest London series, a series that I mostly enjoy. In the first three books, the heroines are sisters and I’d rank them in their series order. The third is my least favorite, namely because it contains a lot of tropes that aren’t my thing. However, I still have enjoyed what I’ve read thus far.

Sure Shot by Sarina Bowen is 99c! This is book four in the Brooklyn series, which I believe is a spin-off of the Brooklyn Bruisers series. Both, however, involve hockey and hockey players.
RECOMMENDED: Off the Clock by Roni Loren is $1.99! I read this one and gave it a B+. Content warnings here for childhood trauma and suicide, which are the major ones I remember. Here’s what I thought:
When I first heard about Off the Clock, I was pretty excited. I’m all for erotic romances with smart people and it’s nice to see non-billionaires. So I went into the book amped for some nerdy people getting down and dirty, but was pleasantly surprised that it was so much more than that – it was emotional and showed an interesting portrayal of individuals dealing with all manner of trauma and mental illness.
For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten is $2.99! This is a dark romantic fantasy that was featured in Hide Your Wallet and was highly anticipated by me and Aarya. I remember starting it but finding it a little slow.
A Wicked Kind of Husband by Mia Vincy is $3.99! This features a married couple who wed out of convenience living two separate lives until they are forced back into each other’s proximity. I’ve heard really good things about this book and for a time, it was recommended a lot on social media. This the third book in a series and the others are this price as well.
