Books on Sale: Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen & More

Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen is $2.99 at Amazon and iBooks! I’m not sure how long this deal will last, as I believe it was a Kindle Daily Deal this weekend. I can’t recommended Allen’s books highly enough and I  love the magical realism she incorporates. However, some readers wished they could have identified more with the characters.

Books on Sale: The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen & More

The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen is $1.99! Allen is an auto-buy author for me and I just love the way she adds in some magical realism to her women’s fiction. Some readers felt that this book and its characters weren’t as great as Allen’s other novels. While others say that if you’re looking for something heartfelt and cozy, this should hit the spot.

Keeper Shelf: Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen

Garden Spells

Squee from the Keeper Shelf is a new feature wherein we share why we love the books we love, specifically the stories which are permanent residents of our Keeper shelves. At length. If you’d like to submit your reasons for loving and … Continue reading Keeper Shelf: Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen

Books on Sale: Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen & More

RECOMMENDED: Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen is $1.99! This author became an auto-buy for me after I read this book as a part of a GoodReads reading challenge. I would liken this book to women’s fiction with a magical realism slant. It’s heartwarming and beautiful and has a 4-star rating on GR. The biggest complaint seems to be the book is a little predictable, but we all need an easy read now and again. It’s the first book in the Waverley Family series.

Books on Sale: Secrets of a Scandalous Heiress by Theresa Romain & More

RECOMMENDED: Secrets of a Scandalous Heiress by Theresa Roman is $1.99 FOR TODAY ONLY! Redheadedgirl reviewed the book and gave it an A:

I really enjoyed everything about this book. The characters were fascinating and not the standard duke (I don’t have anything against the standard duke, mind, but I like reading about the 99%, too). I loved Joss’ identity issues, and the setting made me so happy. I also really liked that there wasn’t an evil villain in the background twirling his mustache and cackling. This was a delight.
