Books on Sale: The Diviners by Libba Bray & More

RECOMMENDED: The Diviners by Libba Bray is $2.99! This is YA fantasy set in 1920s New York, so you can bet there are plenty of amazing clothes and fancy speakeasies. I personally loved the cast of characters, especially the heroine Evie and Evie’s uncle, who happens to curate an occult museum. However, some people found Evie to border on the TSTL category. Any readers care to weigh in on what they thought?

Books on Sale: A Queen from the North by Erin McRae & More

RECOMMENDED: A Queen from the North by Erin McRae and Racheline Maltese is $2.99! This book was recently recommended to Redheadedgirl and she loved it, giving it a B+ grade:

I liked this a LOT. I liked the world building, and I liked Amelia. I liked how her initial reaction to Arthur’s proposal that they consider this level of political marriage was, “So… I’d be the first Yorkist to sit the throne since Richard III and I could actually create positive change for my people? I can’t say NO, can I? Of course I’ll think about it.”

Books on Sale: If the Duke Demands by Anna Harrington & More

If the Duke Demands by Anna Harrington is $2.99! This is the first book in the Capturing the Carlisles. Readers loved the mistaken identity element that kicks of the hero and heroines deal to help each other woo other people. Though readers warn that the hero does kiss another woman, which I know some readers don’t like.

The Study of Seduction by Sabrina Jeffries

The Study of Seduction

Sabrina Jeffries is a flower-crown-wearing romance QUEEN! I shiteth you not, fangirls; when I say this book has all of the things, I do mean all of the things! Friends to lovers, bickering lifelong acquaintances, lessons in love, alpha heroine/beta hero, wagered love bets, opposites attract, an unrequited smitten hero, a marriage of convenience, and a dastardly stalker! That’s right. I said dastardly! The trope gods have bestowed blessings on blessings with this OTP. Our … Continue reading The Study of Seduction by Sabrina Jeffries

The Study of Seduction by Sabrina Jeffries

The Study of Seduction

The Study of Seduction is set in the spring of 1830 and begins with the hero, Edwin Barlow, the Earl of Blakeborough, being asked to watch over Lady Clarissa Lindsey, who is related to his best (and very nearly only) friend, as the Season unfolds. The book is the second in a series but stands well on its own. Clarissa is being pursued by a French nobleman and diplomat who is accosting her in increasingly … Continue reading The Study of Seduction by Sabrina Jeffries

Books on Sale: Roman Crazy by Alice Clayton & More

Roman Crazy by Alice Clayton and Nina Bocci is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and the price is being matched elsewhere. This is a travel romance with the heroine uprooting her life to movie to Italy. It also has a second chance romance as well. Some readers say this is less of a romance and more like chick lit, but many found it to be heartfelt and humorous.

If the Viscount Falls by Sabrina Jeffries

If the Viscount Falls

I disliked this book. Let me revise that: I liked the heroine but found the hero, the story and the writing objectionable. The story starts with our hero – let’s call him Douche Canoe – cut off from funds by his asshole older brother and about to leave society to become a Bow Street runner. He is scheming to get his fiancé, Jane, to jilt him because he assumes that she will not be able … Continue reading If the Viscount Falls by Sabrina Jeffries

Books on Sale: The Courtesan Duchess by Joanna Shupe & More

RECOMMENDEDThe Courtesan Duchess by Joanna Shupe is a Kindle Daily Deal for $1.99! It’s also being price-matched elsewhere, so hooray! This is a historical romance where the couple is married, but estranged. This is also the first book in the Wicked Deceptions series, which Redheadedgirl loved! She mentioned this book on a previous Whatcha Reading post and called the book “delightfully crazy.”

Books on Sale: The Marriage Contract by Katee Robert & More

RECOMMENDED: The Marriage Contract by Katee Robert is $1.99! This is an arranged marriage plot in a modern setting, which I would love to see more of! The book does deal with characters in the mob, which I know is a big off-button for some readers, so FYI. Elyse’s review came out today and she gave it an A:

If you had told me that I’d really love a book about the children of two Boston mob bosses being in an arranged marriage, I’d have raised a skeptical eyebrow. But I’m so so glad that The Marriage Contract proved me wrong because I enjoyed it immensely.
