I know last Hide Your Wallet we instituted some changes. Well now we have more, thanks to the comment left by Katie C. A lot of you expressed wanting to keep the wide breadth of new releases and Katie’s suggestion was pretty great. We’re still keeping our book maximums (five per person), but have added an extra HYW post per month, allowing another five books per person. The first HYW of the month will cover … Continue reading February’s New Releases, Part One →

RECOMMENDED: Destiny’s Surrender by Beverly Jenkins is $1.99! This is the second book in her Destiny series and follows Andrew, Logan’s brother. He has a particularly unique relationship with a courtesan named Billie, who shows up on his doorstep with a child she says is his – and with the intention of leaving her son there so he can have a better life and escape the danger that’s closely following Billie. This book has an impressive 4.2-star rating on GR.

RECOMMENDED: Dance All Night by Alexis Daria is 99c at select vendors! Elyse read this holiday novella and gave it an A-:
I thought the black moment was a little abrupt due to the light conflict, but overall my love for Nik and for the sheer, sweet fun that was Dance All Night made up for it.

Generally speaking, I do not cry while reading. Oh, I’ll want to cry. I’m the opposite of stoic, but I’ve become skilled at holding back tears for one reason and one reason only: glasses. Once I start weeping, my frames turn foggy and any attempt to wipe them with my shirt generally makes it worse. Then, I’ll have to make a decision: do I continue reading without glasses and squint at my tablet, or do … Continue reading Open House by Ruby Lang →

We have a whole new batch of new releases to discuss. And by “batch,” I mean over forty! We also have two books with the same title released this month, which I thought was kind of neat. I think we’ve name-checked all the big releases; I couldn’t think of anything we left off. If we did, please chime in below. What November books are on your to-read list?
Are you ready for Wednesday Links? Are you also as tired as I am? I don’t know what it is about August, but I’m cranky, have zero patience, and just want to nap. Thankfully, the boyfriend is taking me on a relaxing reading weekend next weekend where I will do at little socializing as possible. … If you loved Ruby Lang’s Playing House or Aarya’s wonderful review of it, you might also enjoy her interview … Continue reading Links: Bookstore Romance Day, Skunks, & More →
The events of the last couple weeks have underscored how crucial and life-saving the romance genre is to me. It’s an escape, a safe haven in the storm, and a place where happily-ever-afters are always guaranteed. Romance has literally (and I don’t use that word lightly) saved my life while I clung to a spark of happiness amidst the terror of recent events. Playing House isn’t a perfect novella, but it came into my life … Continue reading Playing House by Ruby Lang →

It’s Links time, everyone! Let’s all settle in for some stuff around the internet. I’m currently en route to NYC for RWA, like many of the romance community. I’ll have my name badge on and if you see me walking around, do say hello. My resting bitch face is genetic, though admittedly being in New York makes me grumpy. … The Ripped Bodice has announced they’ll be starting The Ripped Bodice Awards for Excellence in … Continue reading Links: Cats, Space, & More →
