Next of Kin by Sharon Sala is $2.99! This romantic suspense is book one in the Rebel Ridge series. The heroine is in the witness protection program, but after being discovered by the people from which she’s supposed to be hiding, she heads home to backwoods of Kentucky for safety. Many readers caution that it’s heavy on the suspense and a little lighter on the romance, but others loved the fact that the hero & heroine were childhood sweethearts, which I’m sure is catnip for some. It has a 3.9-star rating on GoodReads.

Chosen to Die by Lisa Jackson is $1.99! This is the second book in the To Die series and is a mystery/romantic suspense. Admittedly, I’m always unsure how to categorize Lisa Jackson books, so any additional comments from the Bitchery would be most helpful. The description is a little intense and the content could possibly be triggering for some readers. This is also a continuation of the first book in the series, so I wouldn’t recommend trying to read this one on its own. It has a 4.1-star rating on GR.

This book was an amazingly pleasant surprise and I lost track of the number of good book noises I made while reading it. The Mark of the Tala by Jeffe Kennedy is $2.99! This is the first book in the Twelve Kingdoms fantasy trilogy, which focuses on three sisters, each very different in their personalities. Readers loved the bond between the sisters, though found the pacing to be off at times. In my experience, fantasy pacing can be tricky because of all the world-building the author has to do.
