To Woo a Wicked Widow by Jenna Jaxon is 99c! This is the first book in The Widows’ Club and some of the subsequent books are also 99c. This has a heroine who is trying to avoid getting married again. Readers seemed divided on the heroine. Some enjoyed her independence, while others couldn’t really connect with her.
Chasing Cassandra by Lisa Kleypas is $1.99! Ellen reviewed this one and gave it a C+:
Overall, even though I did enjoy reading most of this book, I was left feeling kind of lukewarm due to the stalling plot and not quite satisfying romance. I think if you have been reading and liking the series so far there is plenty to like here, especially if you are interested in spending more time with the characters we have already been introduced to.
Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo is $2.99! This was mentioned in a previous Hide Your Wallet and is a lovely YA historical fiction with a F/F romance. It was also a staff pick at the bookstore where I work!
RECOMMENDED: Do You Want to Start a Scandal by Tessa Dare is $1.99! This is part of the Castles Ever After series, but can be read on its own. Elyse loved this book:
I loved Do You Want to Start a Scandal. It’s funny, it’s sexy and it’s got some Clue-like shenanigans going on. If you have better self control than I do, I recommend savoring this book rather than powering through in one sitting (good luck).
RECOMMENDED: The Black Lily by Juliette Cross is 99c! Despite the nips-on-display cover, I really enjoyed this book. Vampires are the ruling class and the heroine is the leader of a human uprising. She first meets the vampire prince hero when she infiltrates a masked ball and tries to assassinate him. It’s Cinderella-esque and the rest of the series has fairy tale influences. You can grab all the books in the series for less than $7!
Dukes Are Forever by Anna Harrington is $2.99! This is a historical romance with what seems to be an enemies to lovers plot. It’s the 1st book in the Secret Life of Scoundrels series. Some readers found the heroine a bit TSTL, but others really loved the hero and his quest for revenge. It has a 3.7-star rating on Goodreads.
