Books on Sale: To Woo a Wicked Widow by Jenna Jaxon & More

To Woo a Wicked Widow by Jenna Jaxon is 99c! This is the first book in The Widows’ Club and some of the subsequent books are also 99c. This has a heroine who is trying to avoid getting married again. Readers seemed divided on the heroine. Some enjoyed her independence, while others couldn’t really connect with her.

Books on Sale: Chasing Cassandra by Lisa Kleypas & More

Chasing Cassandra by Lisa Kleypas is $1.99! Ellen reviewed this one and gave it a C+:

Overall, even though I did enjoy reading most of this book, I was left feeling kind of lukewarm due to the stalling plot and not quite satisfying romance. I think if you have been reading and liking the series so far there is plenty to like here, especially if you are interested in spending more time with the characters we have already been introduced to.

Books on Sale: Do You Want to Start a Scandal by Tessa Dare & More

RECOMMENDED: Do You Want to Start a Scandal by Tessa Dare is $1.99! This is part of the Castles Ever After series, but can be read on its own. Elyse loved this book:

I loved Do You Want to Start a Scandal. It’s funny, it’s sexy and it’s got some Clue-like shenanigans going on. If you have better self control than I do, I recommend savoring this book rather than powering through in one sitting (good luck).

November’s New Releases

We have a whole new batch of new releases to discuss. And by “batch,” I mean over forty! We also have two books with the same title released this month, which I thought was kind of neat. I think we’ve name-checked all the big releases; I couldn’t think of anything we left off. If we did, please chime in below. What November books are on your to-read list?

Books on Sale: The Black Lily by Juliette Cross & More

RECOMMENDEDThe Black Lily by Juliette Cross is 99c! Despite the nips-on-display cover, I really enjoyed this book. Vampires are the ruling class and the heroine is the leader of a human uprising. She first meets the vampire prince hero when she infiltrates a masked ball and tries to assassinate him. It’s Cinderella-esque and the rest of the series has fairy tale influences. You can grab all the books in the series for less than $7!

Books on Sale: Dukes Are Forever by Anna Harrington & More

Dukes Are Forever by Anna Harrington is $2.99! This is a historical romance with what seems to be an enemies to lovers plot. It’s the 1st book in the Secret Life of Scoundrels series. Some readers found the heroine a bit TSTL, but others really loved the hero and his quest for revenge. It has a 3.7-star rating on Goodreads.

July’s New Releases

How the hell is it July already? It’s not a bad month for new books, though the bulk of these releases comes from Elyse. Obviously, she’s going to have a fantastic month. Here are a few other books that might be on your radar: Kiersten White continues her Conqueror’s Saga with Bright We Burn . Record of a Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers is out this month and is part of a highly recommended space opera series. Penny Reid has … Continue reading July’s New Releases
