A Dawn of Onyx by Kate Golden is $1.99! This is book one in the Sacred Stones Trilogy. I’m definitely curious about this fantasy romance, but I find that I don’t often have the patience to follow the same romance over several books.
I Kissed a Girl by Jennet Alexander is $1.99! This is a contemporary F/F romance with both heroines working in different aspects of the entertainment industry. I thought we reviewed this one, but I think it just had a mention on Book Beat instead.
RECOMMENDED: The Hollow of Fear by Sherry Thomas is $1.99! This is the third book the Lady Sherlock series, which probably needs to be read in order. Sarah gave it a B+:
I will keep recommending this series, as it is so layered with opportunities to examine it. It can be read as a mystery, as a historical novel with found family, as an examination of sexism and societal limitations on women, and how those limitations are subverted in acceptable and unacceptable ways, or as a study of those outside the boundaries of high society and how they survive with disguises built of behavior.
Dirty Exes by Rachel Van Dyken is $1.99 at Amazon! It’s a Kindle Daily Deal and check out the other sales. There’s romance, fantasy, and more. The heroine runs a P.I. firm and there are some second chance elements here. Readers loved the humor in this one and how fun it was. However, others mentioned they were tempted to DNF early on, but felt it was worth pushing through. Your mileage may vary.

My Reckless Valentine by Olivia Dade is $1.99 This is a contemporary romance and readers liked the twist on a workplace romance, because the heroine is the boss for a change! However, some readers had significant trouble connecting with either of the main characters.
RECOMMENDED: Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stone is $1.99 at Amazon! Content warning for this book. If you’re unsure if it’s for you, read Elyse and Sarah’s joint review (it earned a B+) and, as a bonus, check out Sarah’s podcast episode with the author. Not that I’m biased, but it’s one of my favorites.

RECOMMENDED: Whiskey Beach by Nora Roberts is $1.99! This is a standalone romantic suspense. I know Elyse frequently turns to Roberts’ books for comfort or to help get out of a slump. However, some found this book rather boring and wouldn’t recommend the audio version. Have you read this one?

This series is thoughtful and emotional and feminist and it’s also silly and fun and insane. I just dropped a ridiculous amount of money on more Thor comics and I regret only that there aren’t more of them.
