There’s a reason I’m mad about tropes. I like to follow a familiar groove, one that hits all the emotional high points that I need. While these old favourites feel slightly stiff in places, overall, it was just the kind of emotional rollercoaster I love being on.
Flare Up by Shannon Stacey is $1.99! This is a price-matched Kindle Daily Deal and part of the Boston Fire series. As the description notes, the heroine has some abuse in her backstory, which may or may not work for you as a reader. Personally, I am a little over it, but YMMV.
PODCAST RECOMMENDED: Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin is $3.99! This was recently recommended on our podcast episode with Sarah J. Maas and it definitely seems of interest to romance readers. It’s a YA fantasy with a marriage of convenience between a secret witch and a witch hunter.
The Wolf at the Door by Charlie Adhara is $1.99 at Amazon! This is a m/m paranormal romance and was recommended by Aarya in our Underrated Authors & Romances Rec League. Though this one wasn’t Aarya’s favorite in the series, she still really liked this one.
Prince Charming by Rachel Hawkins is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and it’s being price-matched. This is the first book in the Royals series and it’s since undergone a cover redesign. Some UK readers felt a few of the details were wrong in terms of setting, while others say this one left them with a huge smile on their face.
Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti is $1.99. This is the first book in her Sin Brothers series. This is intense erotic romantic suspense with an amnesiac hero. Readers loved the balance of action and romance, while others found the heroine TSTL. A few other Zanetti titles are also on sale!
RECOMMENDED: Light My Fire by G.A. Aiken is $1.99! This is the seventh book in Aiken’s Dragon Kin series, which is (obviously) about dragons. The heroine is sent to assassinate the Dragon Queen and is found out. The hero, part of the Queen’s guard, is tasked with transporting the heroine back home in hopes of negotiating a truce. Some readers found the book rather light on romance, though many loved seeing characters from previous books. We featured this book when it was on sale in August and many readers commented on how much they love the series and this book in particular!
