Welcome back to Wednesday Links! How are we all doing? Did anyone take part in the No Kings protest or any Pride festivities this past weekend? Boston had both on the same day. I loved seeing cities and towns, big and small, congregate in support of protecting their communities. I’m not a big fan of the summer and it usually flies by in a bit of a haze, but I’m even more eager to get … Continue reading Links: Video Games, Museums, & More →
Welcome back to Wednesday Links! Last we talked, I mentioned my wine and cheese class. We had a spectacular cheese made by an Australian cheesemaker and it was made from buffalo milk. It was so good; we definitely brought some home, along with the truffle popcorn they paired it with. My social calendar feels pretty full the next few weeks. I’m one of those people who will make plans, dread it up until the last … Continue reading Links: Dogs, Elmo, & More →
Welcome back to Wednesday Links! How have you been?! As the holiday season and end of the year are approaching, how do you plan on celebrating? I’ve decided to bake a bunch of cookies from Dorie Greenspan’s big, beautiful cookie book. I’m trying all new recipes, so wish me luck. I also think I may rope my partner into a Christmas movie marathon. Movies that have made the list: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Elf, Scrooged, A … Continue reading Links: Animals, Adverts, & More →
We’ve made it to November! How are we all feeling? I started seeing Christmas stuff event before Halloween was even over. I’m not anti-Christmas necessarily (though I don’t love a holiday romance), but can one ding dang holiday finish before we start celebrating another?! Especially one that is nearly two months away. Okay, end rant. How did everyone’s Halloween go? My party plans were postponed, though my house was relatively peaceful. We don’t get many kids down … Continue reading Links: Mice, Mundane Halloween, & More →
It’s the New Year! How are we feeling so far? Hopeful? Full of dread? Both? Both is definitely an option. I have started 2022 with getting my septum pierced. I absolutely love it and I’m glad I finally did it. Next up this week is a fresh haircut and getting my eyebrows waxed. I don’t know what it is, but nothing makes me feel like a whole new person than an eyebrow wax. You also … Continue reading Links: Grammar, Birds, & More →
Hey hey! It’s Wednesday! I personally can’t believe it. The days are going by rather quickly, at least for me. This Saturday, I’m getting my third tattoo based on one of my favorite horror movies, The Witch. I am more nervous about having to rent a car in Boston to make it to the shop, which is a couple hours out of the city. Wish me luck! I also feel like we’re beginning the slow, miserable … Continue reading Links: Board Games, Photography, & More →
She’s Too Pretty to Burn is an intriguing, but uneven read. It opens like a teen romance, and ends like a thriller, but the transition between the two is jarring and disruptive to the reading experience. It’s also supposed to be inspired by The Portrait of Dorian Grey which I didn’t get at all from the text. The novel centers around three people: Mick, a high school swim star with a troubled home life; Veronica, … Continue reading She’s Too Pretty to Burn by Wendy Heard →

Recently I read Prospects of a Woman by Wendy Voorsanger, and discovered a new Kickass Woman in its pages. One of the characters is loosely based on real-life photographer Anne Brigman, a passionate traveller and artist who was a leading figure in the Photo-Secession Movement in the arts. The real-life photographer was in California later than her fictional counterpart, but the real and fictional women share a common artistic style and personal philosophy. Anne was born … Continue reading Kickass Women in History: Anne Brigman →

Welcome back to Wednesday Links! I feel like this week is just flying by, but it may just be me. Obviously the Meghan and Harry interview has been a topic of conversation on Slack. Did you watch it?
