RECOMMENDED: The Last Wolf by Maria Vale is $1.99! This sale is good through the 22nd. I really enjoyed this book and its departure from the usual shifter mythology. Vale does a great job creating a sense of place. Be warned though, there is violence in the book and it is very descriptive. The next book is also discounted.
Stars of Fortune by Nora Roberts is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and the price is being matched! You can also check out the other KDDs here! It’s the first book in a new paranormal/fantasy romance trilogy and was previously nominated for a RITA. One of our guest reviewers said that while the writing was beautiful, there was a lack of conflict that made everything seem really easy.
RECOMMENDED: A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet is $4.99! Thanks to Ren for the heads up yesterday. I absolutely loved this book and it’s the best book I’ve read so far this year. And while it’s not our typical less than $4 sale price, it’s definitely worth the extra buck. I gave the book an A:
I can say, without a doubt, that A Promise of Fire is going on my keeper shelf. I want more of these characters and I want more of this world. I cannot remember the last time I wanted to both savor and devour a book, and Bouchet’s writing is so engaging and magical that I wish she had some sort of backlist I could dive into for the next few months. If you’re even slightly tempted by this review or from the chapter one excerpt, buy this book. Because I need more people to discuss it with, pronto!
Irresistibly Yours by Lauren Layne is 99c at Amazon and Kobo! Elsewhere, I believe it’s $2.99, which even though it’s the full price, that’s still not too bad. Thanks to Reader Kelsey C. for the heads up! If you like great dialogue, I always recommend Layne and this was one of my book picks for October’s Hide Your Wallet. However, a few readers found the setting a bit unrealistic. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads.
Love in the Vineyard by Pamela Aares is $2.99! This is a contemporary romance that takes place in a…vineyard. It has a single parent heroine and it’s a class differences romance. Some readers thought the book was a little long for the plot, while others loved the depth of the characters. It can also be reader without reading the other books in the series. However, the first book in the series is free, with books 2-6 being $3.99 a piece! A lot of them also feature baseball-playing heroes.
