The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living by Louise Miller is $1.99! Admittedly, this sounds all sorts of comforting and adorable and Miller’s books have been previous staff picks at the bookstore where I work. However, I’m always iffy on books that are positioned as women’s fiction. Do you have any experience with reading Miller’s titles?

RECOMMENDED: The Lion’s Den by Katherine St. John is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal. Elyse wrote a Lightning Review for this one and gave it an A. Definitely check out her review for a list of triggers to be aware of.
This book is really two mysteries in one, and when they collide it’s a wonderful “ah-ha” moment. I wish I could say more than that, but I don’t want to ruin a single thing for another reader.

RECOMMENDED: A Gentleman’s Game by Theresa Romain is $2.51 at Amazon and $2.99 elsewhere! Redheadedgirl read this historical romance and gave it an A:
Theresa Romain basically created a series just for me, and the first full-length book just confirms it. She reached into my head and found the references and plot that would make me happiest, and gave those thoughts a beautiful cover and said, “Here!”

Nothing Like a Duke by Jane Ashford is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is currently being price-matched. Redheadedgirl picked this one for a previous Hide Your Wallet since she’s enjoyed the series thus far. Readers said there’s some great banter in the book, but wished the plot and conflict had a bit more oomph.

A Mixed Bag from Romain, Phillips, & More

RECOMMENDED: Season for Surrender by Theresa Romain is $2.99 right now at most if not all vendors. This book was a Sizzling Book Club Pick, and Sarah loved it all kinds of ways. It takes place at a scandalous holiday house party, and features a hero who learns how to be a better person, and a heroine who isn’t taking any crap from anyone. As Sarah wrote when she announced this book as the club selection, “Y’all, they are in the library a great deal, and those are some of the best scenes in the book.” The book is also on sale to promote a Hero v. Hero romance tournament by Kensington, so feel free to vote when it opens February 9th!
