RECOMMENDED: Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and it’s being price-matched. Elyse & I really enjoyed this horror/sci-fi novel. We jointly reviewed the book and ultimately decided on a B. We loved the cast of characters, but found the ending anticlimactic.
RECOMMENDED: The Last Wolf by Maria Vale is FREE! I really enjoyed this book and its departure from the usual shifter mythology. Vale does a great job creating a sense of place. Be warned though, there is violence in the book and it is very descriptive. The next two books are also discounted.
I loved this book. It kept me in suspense and when it was over I wanted to read it again. It sent me down many Google rabbit holes, which is my favorite kind of book. I recommend this for people who aren’t averse to ambiguity, who like stories of adventure and exploration as well as intersectional examinations of women’s lives, and to people who like mystery/thrillers.
RECOMMENDED: Talk Sweetly to Me by Courtney Milan is $2.99! This is part of the Brothers Sinister series, though retailers and Goodreads seem confused on whether it’s book 4.5 or 5 in the series. Carrie gave this one a B:
It’s a solid novella that has a science heroine (y’all know how I feel about scientific protagonists of any gender), a strong social justice stance (yay, team) and plenty of lovely writing.
Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan is 99c! This is the first book in the Hoops series and features a basketball player hero. Basketball is a severely underrepresented sport in romance and I’m always happy to see more of it. Readers warn that there is a character background involving domestic abuse, but it’s handled very well according to reviews.
Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe by Heather Webber is $2.99 and part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals! This seems to be women’s fiction with some magical realism and yummy food descriptions. Seeing as I love Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen a lot, this should be right up my alley, but I’ve been hesitant to add it to my TBR.

RECOMMENDED: Hollow Kingdom by Kira Jane Buxton is $2.99! Carrie gave this one an A-, but warns it’s definitely not a romance. Definitely skim her review to see if this book is right for you:
This book broke my heart but it also made me so happy.
I’ve Got My Duke to Keep Me Warm by Kelly Bowen is $1.99! This is the first book in the Lords of Worth series and it was mentioned in a guest post on “feminist favorites.” I thought we had mentioned it in something else as well, but I couldn’t locate anything.
