My perfect pandemic read has enough drama to keep me guessing, but resolves conflicts before they stress me out. First Comes Like gave me everything I wanted, except for tips on moisturizing lipstick. Sadly, I’m still searching for my perfect shade. But if you’re looking for a trope-filled story with characters who overcome family expectations, First Comes Like was delightfully likable.
If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), and we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading December 2021 New Releases, Part One→
There was some lovely writing, some fantastic banter, and I really did like Shay and Dominic together. They had terrific chemistry and the sort of teasing relationship that makes me very happy, because it means there is a firm foundation of friendship underneath the romance.
This book is really two mysteries in one, and when they collide it’s a wonderful “ah-ha” moment. I wish I could say more than that, but I don’t want to ruin a single thing for another reader.
Unbuttoning the CEO by Mia Sosa is 99c! This contemporary romance has a bit of a taboo relationship element. However, I’m skeptical about the hero and his redemption arc. Reckless driving is no joke. This is also part of the Forever Yours digital imprint, so it’s a little on the shorter side at less than 300 pages.
Paradise Cove by Jenny Holiday is $1.99! This is the second book in the Matchmaker Bay series. We’ve heard good things about it and Aarya mentioned it on a Hide Your Wallet over the summer. Have you read it?
The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa is $1.99! This, according to Amazon, is a limited time deal. Grab it while you can! It released in February and was recommended by Aarya in our Ready, Set, Go: Funny Romances post. Have you read it?
I don’t even know what to title these things anymore. There is no theme to this collection of stuff. It’s just…stuff. Tarot cards, fun videos, virtual book events. If you’re curious how I’ll be spending my afternoon, I somehow have all the ingredients for this. … It’s okay to treat yourself and, right now, I’m ogling this gorgeous botanical-themed tarot deck on Kickstarter. It’s already reached its goal, so you’re guaranteed to get your reward! … Continue reading Links: Just Stuff→
I know last Hide Your Wallet we instituted some changes. Well now we have more, thanks to the comment left by Katie C. A lot of you expressed wanting to keep the wide breadth of new releases and Katie’s suggestion was pretty great. We’re still keeping our book maximums (five per person), but have added an extra HYW post per month, allowing another five books per person. The first HYW of the month will cover … Continue reading February’s New Releases, Part One→
Crashing into Her by Mia Sosa is 99c! This is the third book in the Love on Cue series and can be read as a standalone. Readers say this one has a slow burn, but some felt it was a little slow for their liking. Have you read this one?
Beginner’s Luck by Kate Clayborn is 99c at Amazon! This deal could be expiring soon. Sarah gave this book a C- because she was hoping for some more depth in the book. However, I remember seeing the Bitchery recommend it in comments. This might be a Your Mileage May Vary situation. It also has a scientist heroine!
