Fool Me Twice by Meredith Duran is $1.99! This historical romance is book two in the Rules for the Reckless series. We featured another Duran title on sale recently and the comments were filled with praise and hopes that Duran will return to writing. For fans of Duran, how did you feel about this one?
PODCAST RECOMMENDED: A Lady’s Code of Misconduct by Meredith Duran is $1.99! This historical romance was recommended on a podcast episode with Sarah, Elyse, and Karen of the Knit One, Geek Two podcast. Karen mentioned that she’s a sucker for amnesia stories and this one has an amnesiac hero. Have you read this one
Taming the Legend by Kat Latham is 99c! This is the fourth book in the London Legends series, which features rugby playing heroes. A few more of them are on sale. This one has a second chance romance, and the third book is also on sale. I enjoyed this series, but it’s been a hot minute since I’ve read it.
NB: Today, we have a guest review from Reader Claudia on the latest release by Meredith Duran. Here’s Claudia’s bio: At sixteen, I found my older cousin’s stash of Barbara Cartlands and other assorted Harlequin-type romance housed in an old sewing cabinet and life was never the same! I took a long break from romance but rediscovered it about four years ago. I love history, so I mostly read historical romance. I really like when … Continue reading Guest Review: The Sins of Lord Lockwood by Meredith Duran→
Fortune’s Pawn by Rachel Bach is $1.99! This is a scifi novel with some strong romantic elements and, in the past, I’ve heard it described as Kate Daniels in space. Many people loved this book and its worldbuilding, though there are a few reviewers who said they never connected with any of the characters.
Between the Devil and the Duke by Kelly Bowen is $2.99! This is book three in the Season for Scandal series, but it can be read as a standalone. Readers really liked both main characters, though others felt the hero had a serious case of insta-love, or at the very least…insta-lust. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads.
RECOMMENDED: Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy by Karen Abbott is $1.99! This nonfiction book tells the history of four kickass women during the Civil War. Carrie reviewed the book and gave it an impressive A+:
The book is interesting and exciting and paints incredible pictures of very different women who, love them or hate them, lived unusual lives of great political and personal passion and daring.
RECOMMENDED: The Diviners by Libba Bray is $2.99! This is YA fantasy set in 1920s New York, so you can bet there are plenty of amazing clothes and fancy speakeasies. I personally loved the cast of characters, especially the heroine Evie and Evie’s uncle, who happens to curate an occult museum. However, some people found Evie to border on the TSTL category. Any readers care to weigh in on what they thought?
Wicked Becomes You by Meredith Duran is $3.99! This is a standalone historical romance. Readers admit this isn’t their favorite of Duran’s books and the prologue confused several people. But others really enjoyed the tension between the hero and heroine.
RECOMMENDED: The Missing by Caroline Eriksson is $3.99 at Amazon! This is a psychological thriller that Elyse loved. She wrote a Lighting Review of it because she didn’t want to spoil to much of the plot. It earned an A grade:
The Missing is a dark, dark book, but a deeply satisfying one. It’s the sort of book I desperately want to talk to someone about–but I have to wait for them to read it first. It’s worth not being spoiled.
