It’s Comics, but it’s not Comic Sans! Recently Cat Sebastian revealed on Instagram the cover for her new book, Star Shipped, coming out in March 2026: Vintage comic style! I dig it. It conveys an era without being exactly specific, and it’s a style that’s nostalgically familiar. I’ve noticed this style as a growing trend in romance. Now, usually when I notice a trend, it’s after two similar occurrences. That’s a coincidence, I know. This … Continue reading Comic Style Covers Keep On Coming→
Jinn and Juice by Nicole Peeler is $1.99! This is book in an urban fantasy series that Sarah mentioned in a previous Hide Your Wallet. I am obsessed with this cover and all of the purples. Any fans of this series in the Bitchery?
The Hunter by Kerrigan Byrne is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and isn’t being price-matched just yet. Redheadedgirl really loved the previous book in the series, and was excited about this one. The book is favorably reviewed on Goodreads, holding a 4.2-star rating.
RECOMMENDED: The Brightest Day Anthology is 99c! This is a historical romance anthology with several recommended authors. Sarah read it and gave it a B-:
Anthologies are difficult to grade sometimes. Some of the stories I found myself skimming, while with Cole’s story, I was gripping my ereader so tightly my hands started to ache. I’m giving this anthology a B- overall, averaging together the grades above.
I had high hopes for this book, I really did. A widower finds love with his best friend? Sounded like my kind of story, but about ¼ of the way through it I knew that I was ONLY going to finish so that I could write this review, because I love me some SBTB. Let’s start with the good. Maisey Yates is a damn good writer. Untouched is one of my favorite contemporaries ever. She … Continue reading Brokedown Cowboy by Maisey Yates→
While your book budget may have gotten a small break last month, this month is about to do some serious damage. We’ve picked over twenty (twenty!) books that we’re really excited about reading. However, we also know there are some major books coming out this June that are on many readers’ radar: Nalini Signh’s new addition to her Psy-Changeling series, Allegiance of Honor The final book in Kristen Callihan’s Darkest London series, Forevermore Book nine in Naomi Novik’s … Continue reading June’s New Releases→
Part Time Cowboy by Maisey Yates is $2.99! This is a small town romance with a trouble making heroine who returns to her hometown. For some readers, parts of the conflict felt unnecessary, but I also know that Yates comes highly recommended if you’re in the mood for fun and steamy romances.
My One and Only by Kristan Higgans is $1.99 at most vendors and $2.99 elsewhere! This is a contemporary second chance romance with a road trip plot. Catnip, anyone? Some readers felt the romance was predictable and just sort of meh, while others really loved how Higgins handled the second chance/reunited exes trope. Readers also mentioned the book has some great secondary characters. Have you read this one?
Hope Ignites by Jaci Burton is $3.99 at most vendors! This is a contemporary small town romance between a rancher and an actress. Readers loved the chemistry between the two characters and the opposites attract plot. However, some warn that the hero could be a bit of a jerk. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads.
RECOMMENDED: Bringing Home the Bad Boy by Jessica Lemmon is $1.99! I bought this when it was n sale last spring and enjoyed it! This is a contemporary romance and the first in a series. The hero is a tattoo artist, single father, and a widower, and I just know that has to be someone’s catnip. The heroine also appears to be the best friend of the hero’s late wife, which I know isn’t everyone’s favorite trope. You have been forewarned. It also has a 4-star rating on GoodReads.
