The Dating Playbook by Farrah Rochon is $2.99! This is book two in The Boyfriend Project series, though it works fine on its own. The heroine is a personal trainer and the hero is an athlete who wants to get back into the NFL.
Bonds of Courage by Lynda Aicher is $1.99! This is an erotic romance with a hockey player hero and dominatrix heroine, and hello catnip! I’m always on the search for more Dommes in romance and I’m very curious about this one. Have you read it?
To Woo a Wicked Widow by Jenna Jaxon is 99c at Amazon! This is the first book in The Widows’ Club and has a heroine who is trying to avoid getting married again. Readers seemed divided on the heroine. Some enjoyed her independence, while others couldn’t really connect with her.
The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal is $2.99! I have a feeling this is on sale because of the Apollo 11 anniversary. Carrie read this one and gave it a B grade:
Even though at first I found this book to be slow going, I came to appreciate it for its intersectional feminism and its unabashed adoration of all the science and math that goes into making space flight possible.
Baron by Joanna Shupe is $3.99! This is the second book in the Knickerbocker Club series, which Redheadedgirl really enjoyed. Readers really liked the con artist heroine, but found that Baron wasn’t as good as the first book, Magnate. The third book, Mogul, is also $3.99.
It’s Monday and Mondays around here mean Cover Snark! Elyse: I thought that was shoulder hair…it’s not right? Sarah: On his shoulder? Don’t think so. But he more than loves her so maybe he also keeps her warm? Elyse: I married a hirsute man and I’m used to hairy shoulders, and it looks like hair to me. That’s all I’m saying. You gotta do the magic eye thing where you look at it but don’t … Continue reading Cover Snark: Nip Med, Sundays on ABC→
The Flame and the Flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss is 99c! This is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals, which also include some other romances. This is an Old Skool romance and for many, was their intro to the genre. I will warn you that there is rape and talk of it. For some, this book will hold a special place in readers’ hearts, while others say this one does not age well. What do you think?
Sleepless in Manhattan by Sarah Morgan is $1.99! This is the first book in a new series and readers loved how fun it was and note there’s some pretty great female friendships. However, others mention slow pacing and the lackluster chemistry between the hero and heroine.
RECOMMENDED: Unraveled by Courtney Milan is 99c! We’re big fans of Milan’s writing here at SBTB HQ, so of course we have a review of this book. Redheadedgirl wound up giving it an A:
Both characters had traits that I really admired, and avoided tropes that get tiresome. There’s no build up of unnecessary drama because she won’t tell him things. Which leaves plenty of room for all the necessary drama. YAY!
Grey by E.L. James is currently 99c at Amazon! Yep. So if you wanted to sip that crazysauce for yourself, $1 is very low risk and possibly very high reward (if you’re playing a drinking game). This book contains peeled ginger root fantasies, conversations with Christian’s cock, and basically to quote Lori, the hot guy opened his mouth and spoke, and ruined everything. Sarah recapped some of the worst lines from the beginning chapters. And we had not one, but two reviews! One from Redheadedgirl and a guest review from reader Gloriamarie.
