Lightning Reviews: Mermaids and Dragons

Welcome to Lightning Reviews! For the uninitiated, this is where we run smaller, more bite-sized reviews of books, usually as a pair or trio. I think the subject line here pretty much says it all. We have a book with mermaids and a book with dragons being reviews. Both are queer and magical.

Lightning Reviews: Celebrity Romance, Chemistry, & More

Welcome to Lightning Reviews! This is where we post our shorter reviews for books that don’t warrant over a thousand words to discuss! We have three different titles from three different reviewers. I know some of you like to try and guess the writer for each review as you read them. Would love to know if you get them right!

Lightning Reviews: All Historicals

Lightning Reviews are back! All three have historical settings! One is more historical mystery, while the other are historical romance. And they’re all well-reviewed, which means your TBR will probably grow a bit. Let’s go!

Lightning Reviews: Cat Sebastian and a Contemporary Thriller

Hey all! We’re here with some Lightning Reviews. If you’re unfamiliar, these are quick reviews, usually around 500 words or less. We try to run two or three at a time. It’s kinda fun to see how different how reviewers’ tastes are, especially when we group their reviews together. This time, we have Cat Sebastian’s latest romance and a new thriller!

Lightning Reviews: Libraries & Romantic Suspense

Hey hey, it’s Lightning Reviews time! If you’re new to the site, this is where we run a couple reviews at a time that are on the shorter side at around 500 words or less. Sometimes you read something and there isn’t enough to say to fill up a full review, and that’s okay! This time, we have nonfiction and romantic suspense!

Lightning Reviews: A Cookbook and Beverly Jenkins

As the title suggests, these two Lightnings Reviews feature a cookbook and a Beverly Jenkins historical romance. I know some of you like to read the reviews and then guess who wrote which and I’m very curious if you’ll guess today’s reviewers correctly. Let us know in the comments!

Lightning Reviews: Historical Mysteries

As the title suggest, these Lightning Reviews are historical mysteries! I know the Bitchery loves this subgenre and are always on the hunt for more to add to their TBR pile, whether they like it or not. Maybe you’ll find something new to add or, at the very least, something to strike off the list.

Lightning Reviews: Magic & Contemporary Romance

We’re back with another Lightning Reviews duo! I love when I get to group the reviews together because sometimes there’s an unintentional theme and sometimes the selection is just wildly different. I think this time, it’s definitely the latter.

Lightning Reviews: Nonfiction & Historical Romance

In subject matter alone, these two books could not be more different. There’s nonfiction, which Sarah has been talking about a lot in the podcasts and on our Twitch stream. She even has a podcast episode with the author coming up. The second Lightning Review is a historical romance and the third book in a series.

Lightning Reviews: A Duo

This edition of Lightning Reviews is a duo of books that couldn’t be more different. One is a contemporary western romance with big ol’ belt buckles and worn-in boots. The other book is filled with girl power, adventure, and a sisterly bond for the ages. Enjoy!
