Leia: Princess of Alderaan by Claudia Gray is 99c! We ran a wonderful guest post by Crystal on Gray’s Star Wars novels and this one is definitely mentioned:
In this book, Leia is a bold, idealistic teenage girl, in training for her role as ruler, and undergoing the trials that will prove her fitness for it. We get to see her relationship with her parents, Bail and Breha Organa. Breha, especially, gives us an understanding of why Leia is the woman she is.

I rather enjoy fantastical novels in a historical setting. Despite a complete absence of supernatural elements, I see books like these as wish-fulfillment stories, filled with imaginative attitudes and outcomes in outlandish clothes and possibly castles. They could not be more fantastical if unicorns started flying out of everyone’s butt. At their best they are smart, funny, and comforting. Sometimes, I just can’t get enough of this type of fantasy, and Love is a Rogue … Continue reading Love is a Rogue by Lenora Bell →

If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), but we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading October’s New Releases, Part Two →

For the Duke’s Eyes Only by Lenora Bell is $3.99! This historical romance has an archaeologist heroine and a childhood friends to enemies to lovers romance. Carrie read this one and ultimately wanted more nerdery. Have you read this one? It appears that a few of Bell’s other historical romances are also $3.99.

To Taste Temptation by Elizabeth Hoyt is 99c! This is book one in the Legend of the Four Soldiers series and was mentioned in a Rec League on Historical Romance House Parties. One Fine Duke by Lenora Bell is $1.99! This is part of the School for Dukes series and I think we featured in on Cover Awe for the lovely dreamy quality of the cover. Though of course, if you have allergies, you may disagree. Readers enjoyed the adventure elements, but at times felt they overshadowed the romance.

Melting the Ice by Jaci Burton is $1.99! This is book seven in the Play-by-Play series and though it’s been a while since I’ve read this one, I think it’s fine as a standalone. I have a soft spot for this series as I devoured it rather quickly in my early 20s. The lovely team at Berkley even turned this cover into a poster for me. It hangs over my bed.

I don’t think we’ve had a Cover Awe in a minute! This is where we keep the snarking to a minimum and share covers with elements we like. Artist credit: Gregg Gulbronson Designer credit: Amy Halperin Amanda: I might be the minority but I like this cover. I’m also biased when a hero has chest hair. Elyse: I do enjoy a hirsute man. Amanda: And I just like the whole “secret cuddle grove in the … Continue reading Cover Awe: Dreamy Cuddle Groves →

Blame It on the Duke by Lenora Bell is $1.99! I’m confused as to whether this has a fake relationship or a marriage of convenience, but it has some element of that. Readers found that book was overly dramatic at times, though others really loved the heroine. It has a 3.7-star rating on Goodreads.
