RECOMMENDED: Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik is $1.99! This is a sci-fi romance and I absolutely loved it. Be warned that it does have a bit of a pushy alpha hero. You can read my A- here:
I am so incredibly happy that this book is in the world, especially after feeling like I’ve exhausted all my sci-fi romance options. Polaris Rising is exciting. It’s funny. It’s fan-fucking-tastic. My quibbles are minor in comparison to the joyful Good Book Noises I made while reading this.

RECOMMENDED: My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix is $2.99! This is a great book for Halloween. Carrie reviewed this and gave it a B+:
This particular horror story is a love letter to the 1980s and to the power of friendship between women. The ending is very awesome. But also very gross, so be prepared.

To Conquer a Scot by Tamara Gill is 99c! This is the first book in a new time travel historical romance series. I’m not sure if there’s a marriage of convenience element, but there’s some marriage thing going on. And admittedly, I kind of like the cover. I have no idea why.

Diary of an Accidental Wallflower by Jennifer McQuiston is $1.99. This is the first book in McQuiston’s Seduction Diaries series. Readers who enjoyed it loved that the hero was of a lower social class than the heroine. Several readers also describe McQuiston’s books as their new favorite comfort reads – now that’s a huge compliment! Plus, McQuiston’s podcast episode with us, is one of the most popular in the archives.

RECOMMENDED: Level Up by Cathy Yardley is 99c! Sarah and author Bree Bridges (one half of Kit Rocha!) had an entire podcast episode dedicated to squeeing about this book. If you want more geeky romances in your life, the next book, One True Pairing, is also on sale!

RECOMMENDED: Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly is $1.99 at Amazon! So far, there’s no price matching and I’m not really sure if this is a Kindle Daily Deal either. Carrie did a Lightning Review of it today, actually, and she gave it an A:
This is a gripping read that keeps its focus on the intelligence and perseverance of the women who helped win the war and who made space flight possible. Its only flaw is that it’s so admiring of the women in question that it never presents them as having any imperfections. Otherwise, this is an entertaining and fascinating look at American history and the overlooked women of color who were a crucial part of it.

Dilemma in Yellow Silk by Lynne Connolly is 99c as a Kindle Daily Deal! This is book five in the Emperors of London series and all the previous books are priced at $3.99 or less. This book has all sorts of catnip – false identity, some road trip elements, friends to lovers. However, some readers felt the romance started our rather promising and just lost momentum. It has a 4.2-star rating on Goodreads.

RECOMMENDED: Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen is $1.99! I’ve talked about my love for Sarah Addison Allen before. Her books are literary fiction with magical realism and they’re such perfect comfort reads. I like Garden Spells (her debut) a little better, but this was still a good read.

Once Upon a Highland Summer by Lecia Cornwall is 99c at most places! This is the start of the Once Upon a Highland Season series and has a 3.6-star rating on GR. With curses, ghosts, and Scottish Highlanders, this has to set off someone’s catnip alarm. Readers loved the paranormal touch to the story and found it to be a quick, easy read.
