RECOMMENDED: The Thing About Love by Julie James is $1.99! Big thank you to everyone who let us know about this sale. Sarah loved this one and gave it an A-:
I spent one weekend reading The Thing About Love, and it was so enjoyable and so much fun that knowing that I still had more of it to read left me in the best mood. It lifted my entire weekend, and when people ask me about it, I grin and wave my hands around and make Good Book Noise® (and then those people probably regret asking me).
It’s that time again! Hide your wallet because we’re discussing May’s awesome upcoming books. The ones listed below are the ones we’re most excited about, but here are a few others you may be anticipating: Many readers are excited about Sarah J. Maas’ new novella, A Court of Frost and Starlight . Sylvain Neuvel’s Themis Files continues with Only Human . The Death of Mrs. Westaway is the latest thriller by Ruth Ware. From Twinkle, with Love is the … Continue reading May’s New Releases→
A Distant Heart by Sonali Dev is $2.99! If you listened to our podcast episode with Sonali, she summarizes the book as a Rapunzel retelling set in Mumbai. Hello! Though some readers say this isn’t their favorite romance by Dev, it’s still pretty dang good.
River’s End by Nora Roberts is $1.99! This is a romantic suspense novel that was originally published in the late-nineties. Readers enjoyed the emotional aspects to the mystery and romance, but others found the logistics of the actual mystery to require some suspension of disbelief.
The Negotiator by Avery Flynn is 99c! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price-matched at select vendors. Readers loved the ball-busting heroine and the fake relationship element, but some found the romance and its characters to be superficial. It has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads.
The first day of August falls on a Tuesday, which means you barely have to wait to start getting new books delivered to your home or ereader. It’s a lighter month for us at SBTB in terms of new releases, but here are a few other anticipated titles coming out! Keep the Wonder Woman love going with Leigh Bardugo’s Wonder Woman: Warbringer . Royally Endowed by Emma Chase has a bodyguard/royal romance! A big one – The Stone … Continue reading August’s New Releases→
The Wedding Pact by Katee Robert is $2.99! This is the second book in the O’Malley series and does feature a mafia family. It’s a contemporary romance with an arranged marriage and I even made a yummy cocktail for it! Some readers recommend reading the previous book (also on sale!) to get a full understanding of the family dynamics. But others loved the Romeo & Juliet vibe of the romance.
Rookie Move by Sarina Bowen is $1.99 at most vendors and $2.99 at Barnes & Noble! This is book one in the Brooklyn Bruisers series about a hockey team. The second book, which Elyse loved, is discounted a couple bucks. Readers loved the second chance romance in this book, but found the pacing in the first half a big slow.
RECOMMENDED: Too Hot to Handle by Tessa Bailey is $1.99 at most vendors! It’s also $2.99 at Barnes & Noble. I love Bailey’s writing so much. Her dialogue is realistic and fun, and her dirty talk between characters is top notch. I loved the setup of an estranged family’s cross-country road trip. But I will admit the chemistry between the hero and heroine wavered at times.
RECOMMENDED: Dark Wild Night by Christina Lauren is $5.99! This books are rarely on sale, so a $3 price drop is a big deal. The hero is an Aussie who owns a comic book store, while the heroine has a successful graphic novel. It’s also a friends to lovers story. It was also recommended for readers of nerdy romance on our Couples Who Read Together podcast episode!
I have to admit that summer is my least favorite season. Good thing there are so many new releases coming out to keep me inside and in front of my fan. But first, here are some popular upcoming July books that didn’t make our personal list of picks: Victoria Schwab is starting a brand new series with This Savage Song . If you’re anxious to read the follow up to The Bourbon Kings, J.R. Ward’s The Angels’ Share is … Continue reading July’s New Releases→
