Sweet Ruin by Kresley Cole

Sweet Ruin

Sweet Ruin is the sixteenth book (wowzers) in Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series. It’s probably the longest series I’ve stuck with and it’s a paranormal romance to boot. Each book operates in the one couple per book system, though I would not recommend reading this without reading the previous books, which is really always the crux of paranormal romance series. It’s hard for new readers to jump right in when they have to play … Continue reading Sweet Ruin by Kresley Cole

MacRieve, Plus 99c Contemporary Romances!

Books on Sale: MacRieve by Kresley Cole & More

MacRieve by Kresley Cole is $1.99 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble as a daily deal (so this sale may only be good for today only)! Now you can officially complete the set! This book has an athlete heroine, which a lot of people enjoyed. So feel free to comment and tell us why you liked it! However, for me, this is actually one of my least favorite books in the series. This is my review from Goodreads:

While I loved how the book handled the themes of abuse and how it can perpetuate a cycle, the rest of the content was merely okay. The plot was predictable and both MacRieve and Chloe were rather…boring. MacRieve was nothing more than a big ball of hurt, rarely anything more, and Chloe’s bark was worse than her bite.

$1.99 Sales with Fantasy, Contemporary Romance, & Historical Heroes!

Books on Sale: Dark Skye by Kresley Cole & More

RECOMMENDED: Dark Skye by Kresley Cole is $1.99! This means we’re officially caught up on the cover redesigns. This is a paranormal romance and my favorite of the series. I waited ages for Thronos and Lanthe’s story and I wound up giving the book an A- grade:

The book was worth the wait. Truly. The themes of religion fit nicely into the character differences and I was really pulling for Lanthe and Thronos to make important compromises for the benefit of their relationship. I also thought it was a nice touch that Lanthe’s abilities grew more powerful and she became more confident in using them when she was around Thronos, a sign that being with the right person can make you stronger.

Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy from Cole, Andrews, & More

Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy from Cole, Andrews, & More

RECOMMENDED: Lothaire by Kresley Cole is $1.99! We’re in the home stretch with these new cover designs, and if you’ve been keeping up with the sales, you could own the entire series for less than $30. Depending on where you start counting, that’s either thirteen or fourteen titles.
I personally love this series and admittedly, I wasn’t sure about the heroine in this one being Lothaire’s mate, but she really grew on me. Any girl who sends her severed middle finger to a guy is a-okay in my book. The book was also reviewed for the 2013 RITA® Reader Challenge in the Paranormal Romance category. Reader Pam G gave it an A-:

I just want to note that I loved Lothaire both times I read it, and I expect that I’ll read it again.  My taste in urban fantasy/paranormal romance runs strongly to supernatural sex and violence heavily laced with humor, because without the humor, the sex and violence gets to be a yawn after awhile.  I would recommend Lothaire to any reader who enjoys mismatches made in heaven, edged dialogue, immortal angst and multi-leveled hilarity.

Books on Sale: Opening Up by Lauren Dane & More

RECOMMENDED: Opening Up by Lauren Dane is $1.99 at Amazon as part of their Kindle Daily Deal! And what a coincidence that Elyse’s review ran this morning. She gave the book an A-:

First of all, let’s take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous the cover of Opening Up is. I’d hang that on my wall. I really would. But the contents of the book are just as lovely.

Still this book was incredibly sexy and often very funny. It made me duck out on the coworker I was traveling with: “I’d love to go to TGI Fridays with you, but PJ and Asa have a new leather cane they’ve been dying to try out and also I need to know how his weenus piercing feels without a condom, so I’m gonna just head up to my room, ‘kay, thanks.”

Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole – First Three Books on Sale!

Books on Sale: The Warlord Wants Forever by Kresley Cole & More

The Warlord Wants Forever by Kresley Cole is $1.99! There is some contention about whether this is the true first book of the series or if it’s more like 0.5 in the series because of its shorter length. If I remember correctly, the story was actually in an anthology first and, truthfully, you can read the other books without having read this one. Though readers loved the strong heroine, a few thought she bordered on bitchy territory.

The Master by Kresley Cole

The Master

If you don’t remember, I reviewed the first book in the Game Maker series, The Professional  and enjoyed it with the caveat of fully committing myself to the crazy. Now that we’re another book into this strange world of erotic Russians, I was prepared. I knew what to expect and part of me was actually looking forward to seeing the ante upped in cracktastic glory. That is not what happened, which is probably why it … Continue reading The Master by Kresley Cole

Books on Sale: Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost & More

RECOMMENDED: Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost is $1.99. This is the first book in the Cat & Bones/Night Huntress series, and Sarah reviewed it back when it came out in 2007:

This nocturnal badassery comes to a screeching halt when Cat is kidnapped by an exceptionally strong nosferatu named Bones, who is really, really old, really, really strong, and really, really, really sure that Cat is working for someone, someone who wants him dead.

When Cat, sure her end is about two seconds away, tells him the truth about her life and mission, Bones refuses to believe her, until Cat’s emotions get the better of her and her eyes glow green. Bones, who is not a dumbass after many hundreds of years of existence, makes her an offer: train with him, and work with him as a vampire bounty hunter, or die.

Dark Skye by Kresley Cole

Dark Skye

First, allow me to scoop up the remnants of my brain from off the floor. I have been waiting for this book for years, ever since Thronos and Lanthe were introduced in Kiss of a Demon King. That was seven books ago. The two are natural enemies – a winged Vrekener and a Sorceri – but were childhood friends, and eventually more than just friendly attachments began to emerge. The Vrekeners killed Lanthe’s parents and, … Continue reading Dark Skye by Kresley Cole
