Forged by Magic by Jenna Wolfhart is $3.99! We mentioned this one in Hide Your Wallet and on Cover Awe. I definitely purchased this one based on the cover. Did any of you pick it up for that reason?

Rescue Me by Sarra Manning is 99c! I mentioned this one on a previous Book Beat. One of my romance book club members mentioned this one. At the start of every meeting, we talk about books we’ve enjoyed recently, and they listed this one!

The Deadly Hours is $1.99! This is an interesting take on an anthology. You have four great historical mystery writers writing an interconnected story about a cursed gold watch. I’m super curious and Aarya mentioned it on a previous Hide Your Wallet.

Cocaine Blues by Kerry Greenwood is 99c and a KDD! This is book one in the Phryne Fisher Mysteries series. Elyse previously reviewed it and gave the book a B. In summary, she said that while the book was tons of fun to read, there were some things the TV show just did better, namely the costumes.

RECOMMENDED: The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker is $2.99! This is a fantasy historical and reader favorite, and a follow up is due out this year, I think. Carrie reviewed this book in June 2013 and really liked it. She says it doesn’t have romance as its primary plot, but it’s a beautiful read:
I loved this book, but not so much for the love story. I loved the mythologies, the settings, and the characters. The neighborhoods were incredibly detailed and vivid and interesting. The cultural and religious communities felt real and fascinating. I love books that let me see into another world, and this book gave me that feeling many times. The characters were all mesmerizing. I felt like I was in each setting, meeting these real people.

RECOMMENDED: Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake is $1.99! Elyse reviewed this one, giving it an A:
There are a couple of romances in the novel–one a love triangle but not an obnoxious one, and one that made my jaw literally drop. There’s sex too, but it happens off stage. The romances are secondary and serve to drive the plot, and aren’t the main focus of it.
Three Dark Crowns is fun. It’s dark and twisted, it’s all about lady-power, and it’s got a heroine who wears a poisonous snake for a bracelet. I just wish the sequel was out.

RECOMMENDED: Hate to Want You by Alisha Rai is $1.99! Big thank you to everyone who let us know about this sale. This angsty contemporary romance has been recommended on several podcast episodes and received an A grade from Redheadedgirl:
This is the book that I was most excited to get at RT. When people saw that it was out in the wild, the most inhuman noises were made, and it was worth all of those noises.
ALL OF THEM.
So much angst. So much pathos. EVERYTHING HAPPENS SO MUCH.
