A Most Unlikely Duke by Sophie Barnes is $3.99! This is the first book in the Diamonds in the Rough historical romance series and the next book is also $3.99. Carrie read this one and gave it a B:
I loved this book for its lovely use of language, its focus on the problems of both the lower and upper classes, the incredibly likeable characters, and the affirming, sexy, sweet romance.
RECOMMENDED: Diablo Lake: Protected by Lauren Dane is $1.99 at Amazon and $2.49 elsewhere! Sarah read this one and gave it a B+, though she definitely suggest reading the first book, Moonstruck, before this one:
I don’t think I can communicate how much I found this story inspiring and comforting, not without spoiling some major plot points and ruining the joy of discovering the intricate connections between the characters.
Karen Memory by Elizabeth Bear is $2.99! This is a steampunk novel with some alternate history and I totally love the cover. What do you think? Readers really loved the heroine and I can’t really blame them. She sounds (and looks) like a badass. However, some thought there were too many different elements going on. It has a 3.7-star rating on Goodreads.
The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco is $2.99 at Amazon! This might be an expiring Kindle Daily Deal from this weekend, so nab this while you can. This YA fantasy has some Hades/Persephone vibes, which is definitely my catnip. Elyse also mentioned this one on a previous Hide Your Wallet.

H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and so far, is only available on Amazon. There are a couple romances in today’s deals as well. This book made many Best Of lists and won an award or two. I also remember snagging it from my Little Free Library. Some readers say it’s a great examination of grief, while others found it just wasn’t for them.
