RECOMMENDED: The Lord of Stariel by AJ Lancaster is FREE! Ellen gave it an A:
I adored this book and I NEEDED to tell the Bitchery about it. This is a whimsical, fun, sweet fantasy mystery with wonderful characters and a healthy dollop of romance.

Shanna by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss $1.99! Old skool alert! This is definitely a formative historical romance text, but that comes with a warning that it probably won’t hold up. One of the foreign covers of Shanna is my absolute favorite.

RECOMMENDED: Last Night with the Earl by Kelly Bowen is $1.99! I so loved this book and gave it an A-. This is the second book in the Devils of Dover series, but can be read out of order (I did).
For readers who love slow burn historicals that have a focus on emotional healing, I can’t push this into your hands or onto your e-readers fast enough.

RECOMMENDED: Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik is $1.99! This is a sci-fi romance and I absolutely loved it. You can read my A- here:
I am so incredibly happy that this book is in the world, especially after feeling like I’ve exhausted all my sci-fi romance options. Polaris Rising is exciting. It’s funny. It’s fan-fucking-tastic. My quibbles are minor in comparison to the joyful Good Book Noises I made while reading this.

I’ve Got My Duke to Keep Me Warm by Kelly Bowen is $1.99! This is the first book in the Lords of Worth series and it was mentioned in a guest post on “feminist favorites.” I thought we had mentioned it in something else as well, but I couldn’t locate anything.

RECOMMENDED: The Henchmen of Zenda by KJ Charles is 99c! Carrie read this one and gave it an A:
If you are looking for a romance with a traditional HEA, this might not work for you. However, as an adventure story it’s great, and the HEA is fine if you are able to be a little bit flexible about what that means.

RECOMMENDED: Do You Want to Start a Scandal by Tessa Dare is $1.99! This is part of the Castles Ever After series, but can be read on its own. Elyse loved this book:
I loved Do You Want to Start a Scandal. It’s funny, it’s sexy and it’s got some Clue-like shenanigans going on. If you have better self control than I do, I recommend savoring this book rather than powering through in one sitting (good luck).

RECOMMENDED: Kingdom of Exiles by Maxym M. Martineau is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price-matched. Many of today’s deals include romance, so check them out! This is the first book in a fantasy romance series and I enjoyed it, giving it a B+:
If you’re a patient reader and get excited at having a coterie of magical animals, you’ll have a ton of fun with Kingdom of Exiles.

Last Night with the Earl is one of those books that, when upon finishing, made me wonder why the hell I waited so long to read it in the first place. It’s rich in emotional development and has one of the wittiest heroines I’ve ever read. My gripes are minor, and they could very well be due to my own decisions to read the series out of order. Eli Dawes is thought to be dead, … Continue reading Last Night with the Earl by Kelly Bowen →
