RECOMMENDED: The Ones Who Got Away by Roni Loren is $1.99! The second book is available for $2.99. This romance came out in January and I really enjoyed it and its portrayal of people living with trauma. I gave it a B+, but as it deals with victims of gun violence, I completely understand why readers may want to avoid it.
If the subject matter doesn’t scare you off and your catnip is friends to lovers, slow burn-y goodness, The Ones Who Got Away is highly worth the read.

Holding on Tighter by Shayla Black is $1.99! This is book twelve in the Wicked Lovers series and it can be read on its own. This book (and pretty much the whole series) is a blend of erotic romance and romantic suspense. Black tends to write some super alpha heroes, if that is or isn’t your thing.

READER RECOMMENDED: The Vixen and the Vet by Katy Regnery is $2.99 at Amazon! Several books in Regnery’s Modern Fairytale series are on sale! This contemporary romance was previously nominated for a RITA® in the Long Contemporary category and is a Beauty & the Beast retelling. During the RITA® Reader Challenge, Reader Erica gave the book a B:
I really did enjoy the hell out of this book. I really did. I loved Asher. I liked Savannah, I felt like she and I would be buddies. I was rooting for them together and I fully believe in this happily-ever-after (*cough* even though it happens too quickly *cough*), and I’m sure out there in this fictional world, they are together and doing good things. This was not a magic hoo-ha cures your PTSD story, and for that I am grateful.

RECOMMENDED: A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan is $2.99! This is the first book in the Lady Trent series, which Carrie really loves. Readers say the book is pretty awesome in terms of concept, but they surprisingly wanted more dragons. Have you read this book or series?

MacRieve by Kresley Cole is $1.99 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble as a daily deal (so this sale may only be good for today only)! Now you can officially complete the set! This book has an athlete heroine, which a lot of people enjoyed. So feel free to comment and tell us why you liked it! However, for me, this is actually one of my least favorite books in the series. This is my review from Goodreads:
While I loved how the book handled the themes of abuse and how it can perpetuate a cycle, the rest of the content was merely okay. The plot was predictable and both MacRieve and Chloe were rather…boring. MacRieve was nothing more than a big ball of hurt, rarely anything more, and Chloe’s bark was worse than her bite.

Once upon a time, I was on Twitter and I was bubbly and slightly interesting and talked to all sorts of fantastic people. During that awesome time of Twitter joy, Katy Regnery and I bonded over the fact that the Toby Stephens of Jane Eyre is the BEST Jane Eyre movie version EVER. So, I was planning to really love her book, because clearly she has fantastic taste. Have I established firmly enough the fact … Continue reading The Vixen and the Vet by Katy Regnery →
