His Dark Magic by Pat Esden is 99c! I mentioned this in a previous Hide Your Wallet and if you were excited about it like I was, you can grab it for less than a buck! Readers thought this was a great start to a new series, while others thought the romance and fantasy balance was a bit skewed.

If you like historicals with a lot of fast-paced action and don’t mind insta-love, then this book may work nicely for you.
She also mentioned it feels more like a historical adventure with romantic elements than an outright romance.

Fearless in Texas by Kari Lynn Dell is $1.99 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and book four in a contemporary western series. There seemed to be some division on the heroine. Some liked her angry and prickly nature, while others thought she did too much self-sabotaging.

RECOMMENDED: The Ones Who Got Away by Roni Loren is $1.99! This romance came out last year and I really enjoyed it and its portrayal of people living with trauma. I gave it a B+, but as it deals with victims of gun violence, I completely understand why readers may want to avoid it.
If the subject matter doesn’t scare you off and your catnip is friends to lovers, slow burn-y goodness, The Ones Who Got Away is highly worth the read.

Content warning, though, as it does deal with portrayals of mental illness and children in peril. Have you read this one? I think I might see if my local bookstore has this in stock!

Tougher in Texas by Kari Lynn Dell is $1.99! This is the third book in the Texas Rodeo series, though it can be read as a standalone. I’ve read the book before this one and I enjoyed Dell’s writing. She captures emotion really well, and I’m not usually a huge fan of cowboys!

Under Her Skin by Adriana Anders is 99c! Readers warn that this is a contemporary romance on the darker side, but many say this is a great debut by Anders. I actually bought this when it was last on sale and was thrilled to see it out in the wild at my local independent bookstore. If you missed out on the sale last time, you’re in luck!
