RECOMMENDED: All In by Simona Ahrnstedt is $1.99! Redheadedgirl gave the book an A:
I felt like this was full of Shakespearean drama, and scheming families, and hot sex, and gorgeous clothes, but also some important things to say about how the world is functioning. There’s a lot going on, though, and the ending a tad rushed.

The Harp of Kings by Juliet Marillier is $2.99! This is the start of a brand new series about bard siblings going on a quest. I love Marillier’s writing so much; I read her a lot in high school. I was able to get an early copy of this one before it came out and I was nostalgically enchanted by it.

Damsel in Distress by Heather Graham is $1.99! This historical romance has a heroine who is a maiden by day, and a bandit by night. This is a reprint of the same book under Graham’s other pen name, Shannon Drake, just in case the book sounded familiar to anyone. Some readers though there was way too much going on, while others loved the sense of adventure.

Readers say this is dark and fast-paced. Some readers, though, do warn that elements of the story and characters backstories felt unfinished or open-ended.

Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen is $2.99! I can’t recommended Allen’s books highly enough and I love the magical realism she incorporates. However, some readers wished they could have identified more with the characters. Are you fan of Allen’s writing?

How to Handle a Heartbreaker by Marie Harte is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance and readers loved the banter between the hero and heroine. However, others expressed wanting to knock the hero upside the head a couple times. This is the second book in the The McCauley Brothers series, and all four books are $1.99 each!

I have to admit that summer is my least favorite season. Good thing there are so many new releases coming out to keep me inside and in front of my fan. But first, here are some popular upcoming July books that didn’t make our personal list of picks: Victoria Schwab is starting a brand new series with This Savage Song . If you’re anxious to read the follow up to The Bourbon Kings, J.R. Ward’s The Angels’ Share is … Continue reading July’s New Releases →

Do or Die by Suzanne Brockmann is $1.99! This is a romantic suspense between a Navy SEAL and an attorney. I should also note that the description mentions that there are children in peril, which I know is a huge off for some readers. Many readers complain of a rough first start to the book. However, fans of Brockmann loved this spin-off to her Troubleshooters series.

Targeted by Katie Reus is $1.99! This is the first book in the Deadly Ops romantic suspense series. The hero and heroine used to be in a relationship. Unfortunately, it’s been years since they’ve seen each other and now the hero is undercover with a new persona, tasked with getting close to the heroine to help with a case. Obviously, she doesn’t know it’s him. While readers loved the second chance romance combined with the hero’s disguise, some felt certain aspects of the story dragged a little long. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads.

SEAL of Honor by Tonya Burrows is $1.99! This is the first book in her romantic suspense HORNET series, which I’m guessing has nothing to do with the insect. I’m assuming that the other titles in the series will follow the rest of the hero’s team members, at least that’s what I’m hoping! Readers thought Burrows captured a great balance between romance and suspense, though some felt the plot got a little bit muddled halfway through the book. It has a 4-star rating on GoodReads.
