RECOMMENDED: Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas is $1.99! So many readers were looking forward to this book when it first released, and Carrie gave it a B+:
Devil in Spring was so delightful that I read it slowly because I had to take frequent squee breaks. I truly cannot sufficiently express how overjoyed this book made me. That said, I don’t think it will be everyone’s catnip, because the main character sometimes seems overly young and naïve, even given her character quirks.
Snowspelled by Stephanie Burgis is 99c! This is a fantasy romance novella and the first in a series. I also love this cover so much. Readers seemed to really like this one and their chief complaint seems to be that it was too short. It has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads. Have you read this one?
Grumpy Fake Boyfriend by Jackie Lau is 99c at most vendors and $2.99 at Barnes & Noble! Sarah and I wrote a joint review of this one and decided on a B-:
Amanda: There were some missteps for me, like the huge focus on finding love over a weekend getaway from everything, but I know I’ll be reading the next book by Lau. Her characters won me over.
Sarah: I absolutely agree with that – I’ll definitely read Lau’s next book. Her characters, especially their confidence and conversations, won me over, too.
Need You Now by Nicole Helm is 99c! This is the first book in the Mile High Romance series. It’s a contemporary romance with opposites attract elements. Readers seem divided on the hero. Some loved his grump nature, while others thought his grumpiness bordered on sad and rude.

I felt like this was full of Shakespearean drama, and scheming families, and hot sex, and gorgeous clothes, but also some important things to say about how the world is functioning. There’s a lot going on, though, and the ending a tad rushed.
The Black Lyon by Jude Deveraux is $3.99! This is one of the first romances Deveraux published. It came out in 1980 and has Old Skool qualities, but many readers say this is the book that turned them into Deveraux fans. I will also mention that if rape is a trigger for you, avoid this book or at least read cautiously. Any Bitchery members care to add their thoughts?
RECOMMENDED: Wishes by Jude Deveraux is $1.99 at Amazon! Some readers admittedly thought this was a pretty odd book, but this is what Sarah had to say:
This is one of my favorite cracktastic historicals. The heroine has a “fairy godmother” who is actually a New York socialite who died and is in purgatory. To enter heaven she has to make the heroine’s life better. At one point she takes a break from her fairy-godmothering and conjures up a year’s worth of People magazine, which totally made my teenage heart explode with envy.
Everything about When a Scot Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare worked for me. Everything. Bust out the squee mop, y’all because this review is just going to be a flappy-hands Good Book Noise® mess.
Things this book has:
1. A sexy Scot hero I pictured as Sam Heughan.
2. A heroine who is a naturalist and illustrator.
3. Tons of UST.
4. A completely crazy sauce plot that Dare pulls off flawlessly.

High Noon by Nora Roberts is $2.99 right now. This is suspense Nora (as opposed to contemporary Nora or paraNora), and it has a 3.9-star average. Readers who liked it really liked the suspense and the very tough, very smart heroine (who is assaulted so trigger warning, k?) who reminded some of Eve Dallas. If you like suspense or know someone who does, this may make their reading week better.
