Cold Burn of Magic by Jennifer Estep is $3.99 at Amazon and iBooks! This is a young adult urban fantasy with a heroine who hunts monsters and lives in a library basement (which I would do in a heartbeat). Some readers mentioned that there’s a lot going on in setting up the world, since it’s the first book in a series. Meanwhile, others loved the cast of characters, mainly a cowboy pixie by the name of Oscar. Have you read this one?
MacRieve by Kresley Cole is $1.99 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble! Now you can officially complete the set! This book has an athlete heroine, which a lot of people enjoyed. So feel free to comment and tell us why you liked it! However, for me, this is actually one of my least favorite books in the series. This is my review from Goodreads:
While I loved how the book handled the themes of abuse and how it can perpetuate a cycle, the rest of the content was merely okay. The plot was predictable and both MacRieve and Chloe were rather…boring. MacRieve was nothing more than a big ball of hurt, rarely anything more, and Chloe’s bark was worse than her bite.
Tangled Threads by Jennifer Estep is $1.99 today only as a Kindle Daily Deal. This is book 4 of the Gin Blanco series, also known as the Elemental Assassin series, which mixes paranormal, urban fantasy, ass kicking, and some romance. I also noticed that the Kindle sale also prompts a sale on the Audible book, too. That’s always nice. This book has a 4+ star average, and I know the series has many fans around here.
Worth the Risk by Claudia Connor is 99c! This is the second book in the McKinney Brothers contemporary romance series. The first book, Worth the Fall ( A | BN | K | G | AB ), has been a huge hit with the Bitchery in the past. These books are often emotional, and be forewarned that this particular title has a heroine who works with children who are victims of trauma. It has a 4.2-star rating on Goodreads.
