If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), but we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading November’s New Releases, Part One →
Stripped by Zoey Castile is $2.99! This is the first book in the Happy Endings series. I read this one and gave it a B grade:
Stripped is an uncomplicated romance between two goofy, sexy people. It has a sweetness to it that’s reminiscent of a contemporary friends to lovers trope. If that hits all of your buttons, do read this!

The Lady Rogue is a charming, magical, and exhilarating adventure across 1930s Romania. If the premise seems reminiscent of Indiana Jones, there’s a good reason for it. With treasure-hunting galore and reckless protagonists getting themselves entangled with ancient magical artifacts, The Lady Rogue is a madcap romp like no other. I wasted away a sunny afternoon recently, swaying on a hammock in my backyard while Theodora Fox and her love ex-best friend Huck Gallagher chased … Continue reading The Lady Rogue by Jenn Bennett →
Everyone, there are so many good books coming out this month that it’s really quite unfair. We have over forty titles we’re excited for below, but here are a few others we know you’re all anxious to read: Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell is releasing! (My roommate splurged on a life-sized cardboard cutout of Baz, btw.) Margaret Atwood as written a sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale called The Testaments. Rachel Caine continues her Great Library series with Sword and Pen . No … Continue reading September’s New Releases →
Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett is $1.99! This is a YA romance with movie nerdery and an enemies to lovers romance. Some readers found the heroine to be prickly and pretentious. However, others said they couldn’t stop smiling while reading this one.

Welcome to Lit Wicks! This is where we pair an author’s backlist with candles to really immerse yourself in the reading experience. All of the candles featured in these post are from Etsy, which means there is often worldwide shipping and that you’re supporting independent crafters and sellers. The Etsy candle rabbit hole is one I have gone down many times. For October, we’re recommending candles for some of our favorite paranormal romances. All of … Continue reading Lit Wicks: Recommended Paranormal Romances →
The Tethered Mage by Melissa Caruso is $1.99! This is the first book in the Swords and Fire series and a Kindle Daily Deal. Some people have shelved this as YA fantasy on Goodreads, while the second book in the series isn’t shelved as YA. I don’t know if it’s YA or not, sooo…if you’ve read this one, let me know! Last time I featured this one on sale, I immediately bought it, though haven’t gotten around to reading it.

Tapped by Liz Crowe is 99c! Man, this book is all of my catnip. This is an erotic contemporary romance with some menage elements. There’s also no cliffhanger as the third in the relationship is the hero of the next book. It definitely is high on the explicit sex scale, but some readers warn of insta-love.

It’s April, everyone! And no, the sheer number of squee-worthy books coming out this month is not an April Fool’s joke. Let’s all have a moment of silence of our budgets. While the books below are ones we’re looking forward to putting on our shelves, here are some other titles to watch out for: J.R. Ward returns to her Black Dagger Brotherhood series with The Chosen . The Hot Shot by Kristen Callihan is a New Adult sports romance … Continue reading April’s New Releases →
There is always a boy that turns those summer plans upside down, isn’t there? I was already familiar with Bennett’s work from having read her Roaring Twenties series, which has a very skillful blend of historical and paranormal. Since I already had a well of affection for those books, I was interested in this, her first foray into YA. I was also apprehensive, since YA contemporaries tend to be either very hit (Anna and the French … Continue reading The Anatomical Shape of a Heart by Jenn Bennett →
I didn’t plan on liking this book. Seriously. Despite a crazy schedule, I signed up to review five books for the RITA® Reader Challenge–and then I signed up to take an intense college course so I could finish my degree early. Yeah. I thought about dropping this book from my list as it seemed the least appealing to me, but I decided that I made a commitment and that I could manage. Of course, life has … Continue reading Bitter Spirits by Jenn Bennett →
