Books on Sale: Black Water Sister by Zen Cho & More

Black Water Sister by Zen Cho is $1.99! This was mention on a previous Hide You Wallet. I’ve enjoyed Cho’s historical fantasy novels and was curious about this one. However, definitely research trigger warnings, as I know there are some darker elements and scenes.

Books on Sale: The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley & More

RECOMMENDED: The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley is $1.99! I loved this book and give it five stars on Goodreads. It’s easily one of my favorite historical romance and it recently showed up in the comments of our Rec League: Unassuming, Underestimated Heroes post. However, some readers didn’t feel any love necessarily between the hero and heroine. For those who have read this, what did you think?

Books on Sale: A Girl Like Her by Talia Hibbert & More

A Girl Like Her by Talia Hibbert is 99c at Amazon! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and isn’t being price-matched just yet. This is the first book in the Ravenswood series. The book description has a content warning, as there are mentions of past domestic violence. Readers loved the grumpy, prickly heroine, which is totally my catnip. However, others mentioned having difficulties connecting with the characters.

Books on Sale: Shades of Wicked by Jeaniene Frost & More

Shades of Wicked by Jeaniene Frost is $1.99! This is the first book in the Night Rebel series, which is a spin-off of Frost’s Night Huntress series. I read this one and I found it to be a lot of fun. The opening scene is quite…memorable. However, as someone who never got into the Night Huntress series, I’ll admit there’s a learning curve with understanding the world-building. I also made a cocktail for this one!

This is Halloween! THIS IS HALLOWEEN! Not really, but we’re getting close. And then it’s all downhill from there! The air is getting nippy in Boston and my diet mostly consists of hot drinks at this point, which is perfect for our cocktails inspiration for this month. Shades of Wicked by Jeaniene Frost is sexy, adventurous, and great to pick up for the colder seasons. For the hero, Ian, I definitely wanted a hot drink … Continue reading Covers & Cocktails: Veritas

Books on Sale: The Gamble by Kristen Ashley & More

The Gamble by Kristen Ashley is $1.99 and a price-matched Kindle Daily Deal! This is also the first book in her Colorado Mountain series, which seems to mostly be a contemporary romance with suspense elements. Two more books in the series are also part of today’s KDD! New readers of Ashley had a few minor complaints about getting used to her writing style, but overall people couldn’t get enough of the emotional rollercoaster set in a small, snowy town. It has a 4.2-star on GR.
