My Fair Concubine by Jeannie Lin is $1.99! This is a historical “My Fair Lady” style romance – set in the Tang Dynasty in China. Readers loved the retelling and the depth of characterization. However, some readers mentioned that the story dragged at time due to the lack of external conflict.

I have a hunch that this book will launch an A+ series, but it feels too much like a prequel to be graded an A+ and too much of a good prequel to merit anything less than an B+.
The After Party by A.C. Arthur is $3.99! This was just mentioned in part one of November’s Hide Your Wallet and Sarah noted its 9 to 5 vibes. This might be it’s regular price, but it’s still not bad if you’re curious about it.
The Fire in the Glass by Jacquelyn Benson is 99c! Recently, we featured Benson’s more action/adventure title and people in the comments also mentioned how much they loved this one. It’s more of a paranormal historical or historical fantasy with a medium main character.
Recipe for Persuasion by Sonali Dev is $1.99! This is book two in Dev’s Austen retellings. Catherine read this and gave it a C. She liked a lot of the food elements and Ashna, especially. However, she warns this book packs in a lot of angst.
The Smoke Hunter by Jacquelyn Benson is $3.99! Benson was on a recnet-ish podcast and I immediately put this on hold at my library. It sounds like a lot of fun. Have any of you read this one? I’ll be sure to report back after I’ve finished it.
Jinn and Juice by Nicole Peeler is $1.99! This is book in an urban fantasy series that Sarah mentioned in a previous Hide Your Wallet. I am obsessed with this cover and all of the purples. Any fans of this series in the Bitchery?
Shrill by Lindy West is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price-matched. The book does deal with Lindy’s experience with eating, rape culture, and internet trolls, so there’s some pretty heavy stuff. It has a 4.1-star rating on Goodreads.
