The Heir Affair by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan

The Heir Affair

TW: Miscarriage, infertility The Heir Affair is the follow up to 2015’s debut The Royal We, a book I enjoyed immensely. Unfortunately, while the humor and the narrator’s voice still worked for me, there was no character growth at all in The Heir Affair. A lot of things happen in the book, but the three main characters, Bex, Nick and Freddie all end up at pretty much the same place they started at. First of … Continue reading The Heir Affair by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan

Books on Sale: The Royal We by Heather Cocks & More

RECOMMENDEDThe Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan is $3.99! This is also Kindle Daily Deal. Elyse and Redheadedgirl did a joint review of this book and they gave it an A:

RHG: So I’m giving this an A, because it was delightful and I adore the Fug Girls’ version of Harry and Kate and Wills that they’ve created in their heads. It also passed the “Did I stay up until 3 am to finish this?  YES I DID” test.  How about you?

Elyse: Totally an A. It wasn’t as heavy in the romance as I wanted but made up for it by being addictive. I too pulled the 3 a.m. read. Plus it’s really funny and heartfelt.

Soggy Bottoms: The Royal Sandwich

Soggy Bottoms - a Bookish Journey through Technical Bakes with a floury spoon, a rolling pin, and eggshells on a slate background

Ending the year with the Soggy Bottoms is a great idea! And I’m saying that for purely selfish reasons. We’re on to a sweet recipe and honestly…there’s nothing I love more than cake. I’ve never had a Victoria sandwich before, but there was something holiday-esque about it to me. I’m probably wrong, but it was probably the combination of fruit, cream, and a dusting of sugar that had me make the connection. A Victoria sandwich … Continue reading Soggy Bottoms: The Royal Sandwich

Strong Signal by Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell is 99c! This is the first book in the M/M Cyberlove series and the second book, Fast Connection, is currently nominated for a RITA award. Readers really loved the chemistry between the two heroes, but some found bits of the conflict and drama were unnecessary.
