I’ve heard good things about this book and it has a mix of scifi and paranormal elements, and I really don’t know why I’m dragging my feet on reading this series. No Other Duke Will Do by Grace Burrowes is $1.99! This is the third book in the Windham Brides series and features a relationship of convenience. There is also a huge library. Readers say this is a pretty enjoyable read, though it’s not Burrowes’ best. It has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads.
The Scotsman Who Saved Me by Hannah Howell is $1.99! This is the first book in a new series, Seven Brides for Seven Scotsmen. There is a “nursed back to health” element, if that’s your catnip. However, readers were expecting a bit more action based on the book description.
First Women by Kate Anderson Brower is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price matched at Barnes & Noble. Readers found the book to be well-organized, but felt the jumping back and forth between time periods to be a bit jarring. If you like biographies and memoirs, Amazon has a bunch on sale today!
The Black Lyon by Jude Deveraux is $3.99! This is one of the first romances Deveraux published. It came out in 1980 and has Old Skool qualities, but many readers say this is the book that turned them into Deveraux fans. I will also mention that if rape is a trigger for you, avoid this book or at least read cautiously. Any Bitchery members care to add their thoughts?
Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead is $1.99! This is more urban fantasy in the early books than a romance. I actually had trouble getting into this one because it felt like nothing ever happened. But many people loved the butt-kicking succubus heroine who works in a bookstore and lusts after a sexy writer. Have you read it?
Not Always a Saint by Mary Jo Putney is $1.99 at Amazon and Kobo! Hopefully, it’ll be price matched elsewhere. This is also the most recent release in the Lost Lords series and was mentioned on a previous podcast. Many readers loved the hero and heroine separately, but found things lacking in their romance. Several of the other Lost Lords books are also on sale!
The Rogue by Katharine Ashe is available for preorder for $1.99! This is a first book in a new historical romance series that comes out in February. This seems to have a lot of catnip: a second chance romance, a scarred hero, and a marriage of convenience. Any takers? There are also several other Ashe titles also on sale!
RECOMMENDED: Playing Dirty by HelenKay Dimon is $1.99! This is a romantic suspense and is the first book in the Bad Boys Undercover series. Elyse reviewed the book earlier this year and gave it an A:
Playing Dirty is also action-driven, with excellent pacing. I felt like I gobbled this book down in record time, only to realize my neck hurt because I’d been sitting in the exact same position for one glorious OM-NOM-NOM session until it was done.
