If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), and we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading December 2021 New Releases, Part Two →

GUEST RECOMMENDED: A Scot to the Heart by Caroline Linden is $1.99! This one earned a B grade from guest reviewer Morgan:
A Scot to the Heart is a solid book. The house party alone makes it well worth reading. You’ll likely love these characters as much as I did.

Phoenix Unbound by Grace Draven is $1.99! I gave this one a C-, but I’d still recommend it with large caveats. 1) All of the trigger warnings. 2) It’s dense and the slow burn is quite slow. 3) There’s a magical infertility cure. Draven’s writing is always top notch and I’m curious about the next book, which follows a different couple.

Dragon Unleashed is a lovely and tender romance between two people who often feel misunderstood by the world around them. Unfortunately, the rest of the details outside of the romance are depressing as all get out. It’s not a fun world to be in and as a result, I did frequent skimming during the chapters that didn’t focus on the hero and heroine. Before we get into it, I do want to answer the biggest … Continue reading Dragon Unleashed by Grace Draven →

Seasons of Sorcery is $2.49! This is a fantasy anthology with four stories by Jennifer Estep, Grace Draven, Jeffe Kennedy, and Amanda Bouchet. I also made cocktails for this release! My thoughts on the anthology is that it wasn’t bad, but I prefer reading these authors when they have plenty of page length to work.

Buck Wild by Lauren Landish is $1.99 at Amazon! This is the first book in the Bennett Boys Ranch series and is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals. Check out the rest of the deals because there are romances by Lucy Parker, Samantha Chase, and more.

For November’s Covers and Cocktails, I’m doing something a bit different. I’m using an anthology! Seasons of Sorcery is an anthology with four different fantasy romance novellas. A couple of the novellas are set in worlds established already in an author’s series, like with Jennifer Estep’s Elemental Assassin series. But I was able to read these just fine without too much knowledge of the connected worlds or characters. Each story has a “seasonal” thread, which … Continue reading Covers & Cocktails: Seasons of Shots →

CW/TW for mentions of violence, rape, and abuse both in the book and in this review. Phoenix Unbound is a brand new fantasy romance from Grace Draven and the start to a new series. While the world building is fantastic, the pacing greatly affected my reading experience. I also want to warn that I’m going to spoil some elements of this book because some things are integral in discussing my feelings. Also, please keep the … Continue reading Phoenix Unbound by Grace Draven →
