RECOMMENDED: The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman is 99c! This is a fantasy novel that Carrie really enjoyed. She graded it a B+:
While I genuinely loved the characters and concepts of the book, it’s played strictly for fun adventure. It’s basically just an excuse to have smart people fight cyborg alligators in a ballroom and werewolves in a museum. It’s smart, well-written fluff and I ate it up with a spoon.
Jade City by Fonda Lee is $2.99! This adult fantasy novel incredibly violent, according to reviews. But readers loved the world building and threads of mythology weaved into the story. To be honest, the book sounds intense and awesome. It has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads.
RECOMMENDED: Sweet Agony by Charlotte Stein is $1.99! Elyse just squeed about this one:
I acknowledge that Sweet Agony won’t be for everyone. Some readers may just think Cyrian’s an asshole and that’s fine. For me, for my individual reading experience, it was perfect and I’m so happy I found it.
RECOMMENDED: The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price matched. Elyse loved this book and gave it an A:
The Fifth Season is also a relatively quick read. It opens with a cataclysmic disaster and doesn’t slow down its pace. Its characters travel widely. My only word of warning is that the book ends on a massive cliffhanger. Fortunately the sequel, The Obelisk Gate, will be released in August. After finishing this book I’m making desperate grabby hands for the next one.
If you like immersive, action-driven fantasy and if you want a fantasy world that’s not Euro-centric–or if you just love a really, really good story–I cannot recommend The Fifth Season enough.

In His Hands by Adriana Anders is $1.99! This is book three in the Blank Canvas series and I highly recommend the entire series. The books are on the darker side (content warning themes of abuse, isolation, violence), but Anders does a great job with slow burn romances. And, if you want all of the books, the first book is FREE and the second book is only 88c!
