The Princess Knight by G.A. Aiken is $1.99 and it’s also part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals, which feature a ton of romance! This is book two in the Scarred Earth Saga. I loved and reviewed the first book and Lara reviewed this one, giving it a B:
The cast of characters EXPLODES in this book. Pay attention to each and every new character; they are all important. We pop into a lot of different POVs which can be a little dizzying, but adds beautifully to the immersive world building of it all.
The Art of Theft by Sherry Thomas is $1.99! This is book four in the Lady Sherlock series, which the Bitchery and Sarah highly recommend. I do believe these books should be read in order, but if you’re looking to collect all the books on your Kindle, this is a great deal.
Sorcerer to the Crown by Zen Cho is $1.99! I thought we had reviewed this, but I seem to be wrong. We did, however, mention this book on a couple podcast episodes. This is a fantasy novel with some alternate history thrown in. Overall, readers seemed to love the cast of characters, but warn it’s slow to start.
Not the Duke’s Darling by Elizabeth Hoyt is $1.99! We ran a guest review from Ellen before they became a regular reviewer. Ellen gave it a B-:
Overall, I think if you are sufficiently intrigued by the premise of a secret order of Wise Women, you’ll enjoy the book. And if you don’t typically crave a lot of angst and emotional torment in your romance you might enjoy it more than I did!
Skinwalker by Faith Hunter is $1.99! This is a price-matched Kindle Daily Deal! It’s the first book in the urban fantasy Jane Yellowrock series. Reviewers commented that this definitely suffers from “first book-itis,” where a bulk of the book deals with worldbuilding, but the action really picks up during the last half of the book.
Blood of the Earth by Faith Hunter is 99c! This urban fantasy novel is the first in the Soulwood series, which seems to be a spin-off of Hunter’s Jane Yellowrock series. It was also recommended during our SBTB Reader Recommendation Party at RT 2017. I remember because I immediately added it to be TBR pile.
RIPPED BODICE RECOMMENDED: The Secret History of the Pink Carnation is $2.99! This has romance, a bit of mystery, and some historical elements. On a podcast episode with Bea and Leah of The Ripped Bodice, Leah mentioned that she recommends this book pretty frequently. Have you read this one?

With the Native American skinwalker heroine and the inclusion of vampires and werewolves, I’m getting some hefty Mercy Thompson vibes from this book. I love the Mercy Thompson series, so I’m definitely wondering if I’ll enjoy this one. Reviewers commented that this definitely suffers from “first book-itis,” where a bulk of the book deals with worldbuilding, but the action really picks up during the last half of the book. It has a 3.8-star rating on GR.
