Miss Wonderful by Loretta Chase is $2.99! This is the first book in the Carsington Brothers series, which I know is beloved here. Which book in the series is your favorite? Do you think they hold up?

A Thousand Beginnings and Endings is $1.99! This is a YA anthology that focuses on mythology and folklore. It includes fifteen stories by authors like Julie Kagawa, Roshani Chokshi, and more. What I think is most interesting is that after each story, there is a little note from the author on which folk tales or myths were their inspiration.
RECOMMENDED: Beautiful Wreck by Larissa Brown is $3.99! Elyse really enjoyed this book and gave it a B+:
If you like historical detail, slow burn romance, and virgin heroes, you need to click buy right now. Some readers will definitely find Beautiful Wreck too slow or dislike the futuristic element, but for me, this book was exactly what I needed.
Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren is $2.99! Listen, Christina Lauren’s books rarely go on sale. This is a rare occurrence. Their standalones are a bit of a departure from their Beautiful and Wild Seasons series (less explicit sex). However, there is a content warning for the book. If you want to read the spoiler, you can find it here.
The Sisters of the Winter Wood by Rena Rossner is $2.99! I mentioned this one in a previous Hide Your Wallet because I love magical realism. Reader say this book is incredibly atmospheric, but the chief complaints seem to be there’s romance (ew, yuck!) and the amount of Yiddish/Hebrew words. If you’re not familiar with them or Judaism in general, you may feel lost.
Going Down Easy by Erin Nicholas is 99c at Amazon! This is the first book in the Boys of the Big Easy contemporary romance series. Both characters in this one are single parents, if that happens to be your catnip. Some readers said it took a while to warm up to the heroine in the beginning, but said it was worth pushing through. It’s part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals, which also include a Nora Roberts.
The Trouble with Dukes by Grace Burrowes is $99c! There seems to be some Beauty and the Beast elements to this, with an intimidating hero and a heroine who doesn’t mind all of his scary gossip. This begins the new Windham Brides series. Some of the readers thought everything was wrapped up too quickly, but others loved the heroine. Have you read this one?
RECOMMENDED: An Unkindness of Magicians by Kat Howard is $2.99! This is part of the two pages of Kindle Daily Deals today and is bring price-matched. I would recommended this only if you’re in a “burn it all down” mood. The book is violent, graphic, and the characters experience racism, sexism, and the like. But the main character is a witch who essentially wants to dismantle the ruling magic party because they’re terrible.
The Girl with the Red Balloon by Katherine Locke is $1.99! This is a pretty new release and I mentioned how excited I was about it in this month’s Hide Your Wallet. Reviewers on Goodreads recommend this title for fans of magical realism, but some felt the heroine was a bit boring.
Forever Mine is a contemporary romance that made me squee and made me sigh. It’s a celebration of geek culture, of women who love comics, and of cosplay. Sometimes I read a book and I love it so much that I basically can’t even describe how much I love it – I just shove it into people’s hands and shout “OMG READ IT RIGHT NOW!” Forever Mine is that book. I love it so much … Continue reading Forever Mine by Erin Nicholas
RECOMMENDED: All the Single Ladies by Rebecca Traister is $2.99! This book was a huge hit and for the most part, I really enjoyed it. However, it can be dense at times and the women who shared anecdotes could have been more diverse. As a feminist, though, reading the book made me feel pretty empowered.
