After the Gold by Erin McRae and Racheline Maltese

After the Gold

Sometimes a book is pretty much exactly what you think it’s going to be, and that’s not a bad thing! When I started reading After The Gold, I was expecting a high-drama sports romance with lots of angst both about sports and not-sports, and this book totally delivered. After the Gold follows a figure skating pair team, Katie and Brendan, who are trying to figure out what to do both personally and professionally now that … Continue reading After the Gold by Erin McRae and Racheline Maltese

Books on Sale: A Queen from the North by Erin McRae & More

RECOMMENDED: A Queen from the North by Erin McRae and Racheline Maltese is 99c! This book was recently recommended to Redheadedgirl and she loved it, giving it a B+ grade:

I liked this a LOT. I liked the world building, and I liked Amelia. I liked how her initial reaction to Arthur’s proposal that they consider this level of political marriage was, “So… I’d be the first Yorkist to sit the throne since Richard III and I could actually create positive change for my people? I can’t say NO, can I? Of course I’ll think about it.”

Books on Sale: First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones & More

UPDATE: Deal no longer valid.

RECOMMENDED: First Grave on the Right is the first book in Darynda Jones’ Charley Davidson series, and it’s $2.99 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Here’s what Sarah had to say:

When I’ve been at conferences with Jones, readers and authors come up to her and tell her how much they love this series. This book won the Golden Heart in 2009, and the RITA for Best First Book in 2012. The heroine, Charley, is terrific. I listened to the audiobook performance by Lorelei King (after buying the Kindle copy on sale I was offered a discounted audio copy) and it was really good. I didn’t want to stop walking the dogs, that’s for sure.

A Queen From the North by Erin McRae and Racheline Maltese

A Queen from the North

So I’ve been digging into the PILE of recommendations y’all gave me in the Rec League for books set in York and Edinburgh. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ll be in York for a few days in October and in Edinburgh for nearly a week in October, and I am doing my research. (Watch this space for meetup information.) This book was billed as “What if the Wars of the Roses never really ended?” The attempt … Continue reading A Queen From the North by Erin McRae and Racheline Maltese
