The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price-matched. The second book is also a KDD! This is a YA fantasy novel with romance elements and is a retelling of A Thousand and One Nights. Readers love the world Ahdieh built, but do mention there seems to be a love triangle in the first book that doesn’t quite work well. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads.

Under Her Skin by Adriana Anders is 99c! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price-matched by a couple other places. Readers warn that this is a contemporary romance on the darker side, but many say this is a great debut by Anders. I know I’m picking this one up.

Royally Screwed by Emma Chase was a book I was pretty pumped about, given how much I’ve enjoyed Chase’s blend of romance and humor in the past. Plus, it has a hunky royal hero and a heroine who throws a pie in his face. While the description had me salivating and clawing at my Kindle like Gollum on a rampage, the hero’s lack of growth and frequent douchery were a big letdown. Nicholas is Prince of Wessco, … Continue reading Royally Screwed by Emma Chase →

February is here! So give us all the new books, plzkthx! It’s a bit of a smaller month for the SBTB HQ’s book budget, but there are a handful of other books that we know a bunch of you are hearing about or are waiting to buy. Here are a few that are probably on your TBR lists, even if they aren’t on ours: A Conjuring of Light is the third and final book in … Continue reading February’s New Releases →

Is it officially fall yet? Because cooler weather means curling up with a good book, a fluffy blanket, and a warm drink, which is easily one of my favorite things to do. Below are some awesome books that the SBTB posse is totally pumped for, but here are some other important releases coming out this month: New Margaret Atwood! Hag-Seed is a retelling of Shakespeare’s The Tempest Charlaine Harris returns to her Aurora Teagarden cozy mystery series with All … Continue reading October’s New Releases →
Sustained is a contemporary romance that I’ve heard compared to both a romantic comedy and a modern fairy tale. It honestly had to live up to some pretty big words-of-mouth compliments and recommendations, and I can say that for the most part, it totally did. It as funny. It was sweet. I even teared up. Twice. Sustained is also told from the hero’s POV. While I tend to avoid those kinds of romances because the … Continue reading Sustained by Emma Chase →

Sustained by Emma Chase is 99c! The description of this book always makes me smile, and I’m tempted to liken this to a fairy tale romance. The hero swears up and down that he’s no Prince Charming, yet he still helps out the heroine and her gaggle of nieces and nephews. The book is well-reviewed on Goodreads with a 4.3-star rating. However, be warned, the book is told from the hero’s POV, which I know isn’t for everyone. Thanks to Reader Ashley for the heads up!

RECOMMENDED: The Marriage Contract by Katee Robert is $3.99! This is an arranged marriage plot in a modern setting, which I would love to see more of! The book does deal with characters in the mob, which I know is a big off-button for some readers, so FYI. Elyse’s review came out today and she gave it an A:
If you had told me that I’d really love a book about the children of two Boston mob bosses being in an arranged marriage, I’d have raised a skeptical eyebrow. But I’m so so glad that The Marriage Contract proved me wrong because I enjoyed it immensely.

RECOMMENDED: Playing Dirty by HelenKay Dimon is $1.99! This is a romantic suspense and is the first book in the Bad Boys Undercover series. Elyse reviewed the book earlier this year and gave it an A:
Playing Dirty is also action-driven, with excellent pacing. I felt like I gobbled this book down in record time, only to realize my neck hurt because I’d been sitting in the exact same position for one glorious OM-NOM-NOM session until it was done.
